Well I thought it was lovely how you're spreading some joy and hope :)

Not your fault that some people are a bit petty and such. I like your inner dialogue too! :D

You're is a contraction of 'you are'. Try saying 'you are' out loud when you are tempted to use 'you're' with the rest of your sentence, you'll see it doesn't sound quite right.

I didn't. I just don't understand why everyone has to pounce on people for their grammar. It's silly!

Wait, why is expecting someone to be able to communicate using proper language "silly?" I mean, basic grammar is something that is taught in elementary school, I really don't think expecting people to use it is asking too much. This is why America is doing so poorly compared to the rest of the world in education, because people can't be bothered to actually educate themselves in school, and then the rest of the people decide to defend those people, rather than push for them to actually learn anything.

Maybe my standards are too high.

I don't live in America, so I suppose that's neither here nor there for me, but grammar is such a petty thing to be attacking someone about randomly.
I do agree that learning proper language skills is important, but when someone else's language skill level becomes an excuse for personal attacks in a completely unrelated situation, things have gone too far.

I think a lot of people look at all the negatives in their lives. Their weight or their looks etc. It is hard for people to see their inner beauty. Being here on MFP has helped me gain a little more confidence so I can stop looking at myself as a tub of lard and now I can see myself as a melting tub of lard. Eventually I will just be fit. Thanks for the post!! :flowerforyou:

I was actually just trying to be helpful so that the OP could know in future. I even gave them a tip they could use to help them use it correctly next time. I figure at some point she might be writing a resume or cover letter, or something else at work and might need to use the word. I wouldn't want her to be criticised or not get a job or something because she didn't use the correct word. I know some people are pretty judgmental about grammar.

Okay :) I'm sorry for going off on you (I was more annoyed about some of the other, ruder posters anyway). Perhaps next time it would be more appropriate to send helpful information privately? I've always though that was a good idea, because it's less embarassing for the other person :)

    Thanks for being helpful :)

or to stupid, you're boobs are to big/small, you're hips are to big, stomach to pudgy, not a small enough size, weight is to high, hair is to thin, you're to old, fat, to skinny, to loud, to many scars, to many zits, arms are to flabby, legs to fat, thighs touch to much, to many wrinkles, hair never does anything right, not smart enough, not good enough...

These are some of the things that went through my head and some others that went through my friends heads.

This is coming from a girl who has had an eating disorder and adhd, Believe me. Adhd makes an eating disorder 10x worse.

STOP GOING BY WHAT THE WORLD TELLS YOU WHAT BEAUTIFUL IS.

Beauty is a mother/father caring their children, its when you stand up for a friend who is hurting or give your shoes to a homeless person. Beauty is the will to keep going when the whole world and everything in it is calling you ugly and telling you you are not good enough. Beauty is when you laugh so hard you cry, and you don't have a care in the world. Beauty is that one tear that falls when someone says you are to ugly. It is that flop on the bed from working out so hard and that extra push you give yourself to keep going when a work out gets so hard you might collapse. Beauty is that person holding your had telling you it is going to be okay and it is the will to break that habit you struggle from so much. Beauty is the end result after a long hard road of heartache and difficulties. Beauty is when you wake up in the morning looking like the joker and all you can do is laugh at yourself and your friends for looking the same way. It is the ability to realize that you are in fact beautiful. Beauty is NOT defined by your looks...

Now there is nothing wrong with wanting to be healthy and improve the way you look but just remember, this world defines beauty as "the perfect looks" I will say this, I know some pretty "perfectly beautiful" people who are the ugliest things I have ever met because of the way they treat others..

It is not about looks any more with me.

    YOU ARE PERFECT TO ME.

No matter how you try to "define" beauty, there are definitely ugly people in this world. To call everyone perfect is a bit naive.

Really happy to hear you overcame your eating disorder.

I agree, that there are very ugly people out there. Like I said in my original post, I know some pretty ugly ones. (My ex-roommate) This is targeting that one person who is distraught about the way they look and feel like the ugliest creature alive. I was not calling every human being perfect... Because we aren't, just making that clear, we make mistakes and mess up. But no one should feel that way.
