FitBit Exercise Tracking

I just got a FitBit for Christmas and I have it set up to sync with MFP. I am unsure if I am to still log in my exercise on MFP or if I am just supposed to go by whatever my FitBit gives me?? Help!

If you want fitbit advice there is a group of fitbit users. Just search it. Heap of info there. But the answer is no. It does it automatically

I still log somethings like BodyPump and RPM , but when I run or do something where the calories burn comes from how much you move your feet I usually just go with the fitbit estimates. My philosophy is that I'd rather underestimate my calories burn then overestimate it.

What about for Combat, since i was using Kickboxing(turbo-jam) on MFP my calorie burn is higher than what it gave me on my FitBit last night...not sure if its tracking all the calories burned from all the punches and other arm movements...What do you use for Pump on MFP?

Anything feet related let FitBit track - running, jogging, walking

Anything not step related log on MFP under exercise (it will adjust your fitbit #s so you're not double dipping). - So if you had a lot of punches and arm movements that fitbit would ignore I'd log that manually.

Thanks so much! So I did it correctly then, I knew I burned more than 425 calories doing that class when MFP quotes me a little over 600. I logged it in MFP and then Fitbit still gave me about 60 in activity adjustment. SCORE!! YAY!! Thanks Again :)
  • I thought I read somewhere on here that we are supposed to log all food and exercise in MFP, and then fitbit will adjust your calories either up or down to match what you actually did. That's what I've been doing? When I enter the exercise, it asks what time I did it and for how long.
