Exercises I can do with 4 year old??

Anyone have any suggestions of indoor exercise that can be done with (and keep her occupied) a 4 year old? I do a exercise video in the morning (while she is still asleep) but would like to start adding something in the afternoon but it has to involve her. I work lots of hours and I simply can't push her away to exercise in the eveings.

Yoga or dance dvds? There are all kinds that are geared towards kids but you can do them with her!

A 4 yo should be easy to benchpress.

    ROFL!!!

Seriously, my kids always loved it when we cranked the stero up and danced around the living room - just move the breakables out of the way 'cuz it can get crazy!! Good for you, good for them - fun all around. And you can use your 4 year old as weights too!

I'm interested in this too. I have a 3 yr old boy and i'm looking for ideas that involve him. Sometimes we go outside and jump on his trampoline but thats about all ive come up with. He doesn't like to ride in the stroller anymore, when he was little we use to walk 2-3 miles a day on the weekends.

Play sports with them eg football or tennis (doesn't have to be proper tennis - just use space in the garden). Or dance with them. Why not check on YouTube for Zumba videos and you can both copy them.

My daughter (5) has her own hand weights, jump rope, and yoga mat. We go down to the the work out room and she tries to imitate whatever I happen to be doing. It's fun for both of us and she's a heck of a motivator, especially if I get her counting my reps.

Go outside and kick around a ball or play tag...it's actually great exercise and those kiddos will keep you moving better than any coach or trainer I tell you.

My littlest grandson (almost 3) will do yoga with me. He doesn't get all the moves and stuff, but we have fun doing it together. I just make sure I use the easier dvd when he is over. And the giggles are fun too!

We really can't play outside in the winter when it is below 0 and the sun goes down at 4:30 before I get off work. (snow angels are not fun to do in the dark) :glasses:

My kids like to jump around while I do the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, or zumba on the PS3.

Today I used my 2.5 years old nephew as weights and bench pressed with him + number of other workouts using him as weights. He enjoyed it :)

Dance workouts are usually a hit with kids. So are basic kickboxing themed workouts. My stepkids love doing Tae Bo with me, especially if I let them use my hand wraps or boxing gloves!

Another great option is just going outside and playing tag. It's awesome exercise, and it's just fun.

I had this problem with my daughter, even now at six (she has hypermobility issues too), so I find myself carrying her on my shoulders and walking with her. Let your little one sit on your shoulders and count every tree or lamp post you pass. Remember to engage your core and concentrate on your form. Your back will hurt if you don't xx

I also did Dance dvd's and she would bop along. Now she is in school when I do them, and I walk her 3/4km home so, I am getting there again x Good luck x

I have two boys, 6 and 3. When it is nice outside they like to walk with me, play catch, tag, etc. On cold or rainy days, they like to do the zumba for xbox kinect with me and some of the wii games can be fun too.

It's a little old school, but kids like Richard Simmons videos. My son calls him "The Guy with the Crazy Hair and Sparkly Clothes."
