i'll start... i didn't reach the weight i expected to reach, however between Jan 1st, 2012 and Dec. 31st, 2012, i should end up at about an 80lb loss on the year, give or take a couple of pounds.

for me, this year was primarily about dropping weight.

Not even close. I started on mfp in January '12, and i've lost 10lbs. I know that I haven't been as dedicated as I should be, but I log daily still and I have learned tons through the forums. In December 2013, I hope to be answering this same thread with my progress pics of me reaching my goal!

Miles away - but purely due to laziness, lack of motivation and sheer greed. I started well, and am getting back to it, so hopefully 2013 is my year.

    I completely surpassed my goals.

Just maintaining and slight toning now.

I met all my goals and surpassed them. I have more goals still, but I'm starting 2013 at a very happy starting place, with all new goals. I'll probably continue to make more and more goals through out the year. :drinker:

I did not say exactly what I would lose this year. I said I want to lose at least 100lbs and I think it will take 2 years. I started working out last December 2011 and lost 75lbs in year one. That is satisfying to me. Now for year two to reach my goals!

i dont want to say i came close to my goals cause i didnt really set one for the end of the year. my goal for the first phase is to get to 212.

I am about 26 or so away from that (will know for sure tomorrow)

my goal of getting healthier and weighing less has been met, but thats going to be an ongoing goal.

I also surpassed my weight loss goals and have since lowered them. Now I'm 10 pounds to my lower goal weight. 2013 goals are about fitness now, rather than weight.

I didn't know that finding MFP would help me as much as it did. I figured I was just finding another "fad" that maybe it would help spark my weight loss. It really has been a huge helper in my losing 30 pounds. I would love to keep working hard and lose 20 more before summer. I get on here just as much as facebook! I love it! GREAT MOTIVATION!
  • I came within 6 pounds of my year-end goal, I was pretty good and on track from January until November and then fell off the wagon hard. I now have gained 4 or 5 pounds back. Half the time I have been eating like I'm being paid to gain weight for a movie roll! I at 5 donuts in one day a few weeks ago! :embarassed: I now need to fight my way back out of my full-fledged wheat and sugar addiction. I had it under control for a long time, I can do it again!!

I didn't have any goals until Nov . I wanted to lose 20lbs by the time I complete my Insanity program on (Jan 2, 2013) . I'm 6 lbs short right now :grumble:

I didn't have any fitness goals this year. I lost 20 lbs in 2011 and 55 in 2012. I changed my lifestyle and the weightloss is what happened (and how I wanted it to go). No "goals" means no feeling bad if I don't meet them. I just stay on track, like the little engine that could. I'll get there when I get there. 55 lbs is awesome, I'm thrilled with it, and I have less than that to go.

I did have one fitness goal, of moving (running/hiking/snowshoeing/ellipticalling) 1,000 miles in 2012 and I passed that earlier this month. Nothing to confess here. Except, I guess, I'm still not fluent in Spanish, which I try to become every. freaking. year. Or ANO :)

Pretty much on plan. Didn't bike or travel enough, but that's true every year.

I'll be in maintenance soon and WT and running further next year. I'm already thinking of adding either a few more large runs, a multi day ride or trek but trying to figure it out with my daughters and brother. My mother is quite ill so I want to see time with her. 2013 is a transition year. RAGBRAI? Leadville? Lead a ride across the Itsmo de Tehuantepec? Hike the Atlas? Who knows.

    Storm is coming.

    Not quite.
I lost about 20 pounds earlier this year, was feeling great, then ended up in the hospital and out of commission for a while. Have had a hard time building the energy since. I have gained about 10 of those pounds back, but am hoping to get rid of them plus another 10 on top of that. But I did keep playing tennis, which is an important thing to me.

When I got serious about this in May, I wanted to be done by now but still have about 37 lbs. to go. But I can't complain too much -- I'm down about 63 lbs. from a year ago -- 53 since May when I actually started putting some real effort into it and about 78 lbs. altogether. So, when I look at how much faster it's coming off with the extra effort of the exercise that I hate, it makes it that much more tolerable to stick with it long enough to finish this out, even if it's taking longer than I wanted.

Well... I didn't really have a goal just yet, except maybe not to gain more weight during the holidays. I think I've done that. :) And to keep eating... I've done that too. So that counts, right!?

I feel ok with my goals. I think that losing 75lbs in a year is good. I wanted to lose more, but I never set a definitive goal to reach it.

  • I need to know where that picture came from!
Congrats to all those who have reached goals and to the ones who tried.

I didn't, I was too absent minded and not committed enough for periods, my goal weight is 180 and I'm about 30lbs away which at the least should be an easy target by the end of 2013.

I surpassed my goal! I wanted to reach 120lbs and i'm now at 118. 2012 has actually given me new goals I didn't expect. So for 2013 I would like to drop to my UG of 115, then work on maintenance, gaining more strength, balance, and stamina and master more yoga poses. :)
