Feeling guilty for being full.

Anyone else ever feel guilty for eating till your really full?

I did stay within my calorie allowance for the day, but I feel like I may have over ate. Maybe I should have stopped eating when I was no longer hungry? Is this a psychological thing?

I don't feel guilty when I do it. It is what it is. If anything, I don't like the "stuffed" feeling. Move on--tomorrow's a new day.

Yes, you're right. I tend to overthink this stuff and I probably didn't need to even post this. I was having a low moment...

Consider incentivising yourself to forego the excess calories, that you don't need in order to feel 'beyond' full.
I found when I began doing more intense cardio, there were days when I had a much greater calorie intake allowance, but my appetite was up and down, those days I ran were not always the days I felt most hungry. Often I was hungrier the day after a run,
so my approach was to allow myself to roll over anything between 50 and 100% of uneaten calories on a given day, (deduct them as a quick add calorie 'dummy roll over' snack' and and add them to the next day as a dummy quick add cardio exercise.
This helped me smooth out my hunger pangs, whilst staying on track with my calorie budget , but more over a '2day' than a 1day window.

I feel really guility when I feel full too, even though I'm like always under my calorie goal and worked out. but for me i've learned I know i will feel guility if I eat really filling (and therefore usually rich or not good for you foods) foods so i stay away from them except on special occasions or if my parents make something, I try to eat them in moderation when I have to

No, and I'm stuffed right now!

Feel great about how you spent your calories! You've still got money in the bank!!!

I definitely don't feel guilty about it, but it makes me feel yucky. I actually feel more guilty when I am way below my calorie goal having not eaten all of the food I could have for the day!

Edited to add: I have a ton of calories left for the day today. I've got to have a big snack!

Definitely good to experience light days as well as feast days.

I feel guilty if I'm full or if I'm way over my calories. But these things happen. Just get back up and keep goin' with your bad self. :)
  • Sick, yes. Guilty, no. If I'm within my calorie limits I'm happy.

Nope, I specifically eat less meals but bigger portions so I CAN feel full and satisfied while remaining within my calorie goal. So no, never guilty - maybe deprived if I ate too little.

To me, personally, feeling guilty about feeling full (or for similar reasons) is on the razor's edge of an eating disorder. Don't go down that road. Losing weight doesn't mean you have to feel hungry or unsatisfied all of the time. Or hell, for that matter - ever! If you plan your meals/macros correctly you should never really be hungry.

I understand what you are saying, Dope. I have had occasions where I "get off" having hunger pangs. In my mind I think, "If I am hungry, I'm not gaining weight at this moment in time." Really trying to brush that out of my mind....

There's no need for guilt. You shouldn't attach morality to food.
