Help me figure this out MFP

Okay so I'm new to the site I've set my fitness and calorie goals based on the information I received it says that my calorie deficit is 500 calories a day for 7 days a week which will put me at 3500 calories a week losing 1 pound a week....where the confusing part comes in at is that it says total calories burned for the week is a little over 4,000 calories my question is....is the 4,000 and more calories burned for that week a goal I should reach for the week? Or is that how many calories I should burn for the week? Because with a deficit of 500 calories a day that only adds up to 3500 calories for that week if there's anyone that can help me out I'd gladly appreciate it thanks a million

The "Calories Burned / Week 5,110 calories/week" is based on the "goal" you set for yourself via the "PLANNED" exercise at my home > settings > update diet / fitness profile.
Thing is MFP doesn't 'believe' you on your planned exercise (unless and until you actually log the exercise as being completed for each day by going to exercise > Cardio > add exercise > and giving it a time frame for the chosen activity.
Try it... plan 0 minutes of exercise and view your daily calorie goal.
Now plan something "crazy" like 3600 minutes of exercise.. view your identical calorie goal. This is because your FOOD calories alone for the day include the deficit "needed" to lose weight at the rate you select. 0.5 1 1.5 or 2lbs per week.
When you log an exercise as completed in MFP (or plan ahead for your day so you get the calories you know you'll be burning so you can eat them across your meals instead of getting to the evening with another 500+ calories that you could eat) you will get extra calories added to your day. You can eat those calories and still keep your desired rate of loss on pace because your food calories alone include the deficit for you to loose at the desired rate.0 -

THIS
I actually prefer the whole notion of flexibility and exercise burn drawn out from daily calories.
There is something about eating back those calories that drive me to train more...harder...
GOOD LUCK...and welcome!0 -
I have no idea about the weekly goals or anything, I just deal with it day today! I love the little things I can change - my food diary isn't breakfast lunch dinner snacks, it's times, because I like to eat like 4 - 5 small meal snack things every 3 hours ish! It's great0
