Calling all vegans!

I've been vegan for the past 7 years, and at times have eaten very healthy and other times been a total junk food vegan. I'm recommitting to a healthy, whole foods anti-inflammatory vegan lifestyle and would love to connect with others who are vegan and on a similar journey! I'd love to hear how you came to live a vegan lifestyle, and to know what you're eating to help you lose weight and be healthy!

I would like to see your diary and have inspiration. I have only been vegetarian for less than a month. I ate no animal products whatsoever for one week. Now I will eat a pancake that has egg in it or a casserole with cheese, and I have eaten baked goods over the holidays that weren't made by me. I also have a bag of skim milk powder and half a container of whey protein powder that i will not waste. So I am vegan for a few days in a week. I think it probably takes time to slowly adjust . I do find it difficult to get 100 grams of protein a day. Usually it's 50 to 75. I discovered seitan and make it myself and love it fried up with BBQ sauce. I also enjoy tofu and tofu products.. My daughter stopped eating meat at the same time but she intends to continue having lots of dairy. As a result many of our meals involve cheese milk and / or eggs. Anyways, now that I've told my life story, pls add me. I am definitely leaning towards vegan.0

Sent you a friends request, I have it set so friends can see my food diary. I read a great article about the myth of getting enough protein on a vegan diet (you definitely don't need 100g/day) that you might want to check out: http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-7151/if-youre-vegan-how-do-you-get-enough-protein.html
Also I highly recommend Forks Over Knives, Fat Sick & Nearly Dead and Vegucated. All are documentaries, all on Netflix too! If you have any specific questions Feel free to ask!0
