-insert generic feminist comment about how ingrained misogyny leads women to mistrust men--
-insert generic comment about patriarchy backfiring on men and causing the expectation of "romantic behavior"-
put the two together? you get this comic.

Lol, this is hilarious! IMO, best time to be romantic is when you want something...............like a new car.

I'm laughing at both of these, actually. Note to self, stop being insecure, or at least pretend not to be when someone says something sappy and romantic!0 -
Wow. Remarkably familiar. Except the "Yeah, right." came after every "I love you.".0

Not always true...I would love to hear "I love you" once in awhile without having to ask. I have been told it is fairy tale BS though and to come back to the real world.0

here's my little observation as a guy.
we often think actions speak louder than words. even if we don't always say it, we often do things we don't want to do, or before we are asked to do, as a way of letting women know how we feel. if you make an offhand comment about one of the cupboard door hinges being loose and come down the next morning and discover it has been fixed, that may just be your guy's way of showing you he loves you, instead of saying it.0 -

Which is why I am rarely romantic. Then once in a while i'll do something nice and BAM! thankful grateful sex.
Example you say? Keep her in the basement locked for days and then open the door just enough for light. All of a sudden I hear her screaming and mumbling which I assume means "I will have sex with you as a thank you for showing me light!"0
