Tracking my green monster...please help!

Hi Folks,

I just had a question about tracking....

I just made a wonderful green monster in my blender which consists of 2 cups of baby spinach, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 cup of pineapple and 3 cups of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze with some ice. It made 4 cups worth of a kind of green smoothy. I'm drinking one cup now. I have no idea how to account for this in the food tracker. I can't seem to find a recipe calculator on this site. Am I not looking hard enough? How would you input this and have it be accurate?

You could try putting in each ingrediant indivdualy....there are some recipie calculators out there, but not on this site yet.

Take each item that you put in the blender, add all the calories together, for instance 3 cups of almond breeze, 1 cup pineapple ect... add all the calories together and divide by 4 you should get the calories that way. then add it to your meals so you always have it handy.... ENJOY hte green monster
  • You can either input these things separately or you can go to sparkrecipes.com and use the recipe calculator there to work out calories. :-) xx

I would add all the ingredients (full measurents), then divide your totals by the number of servings.

    Also, create it "my foods"
  • You can either input the individual ingredients and then perhaps save them as a meal, or figure it out yourself and enter it as a custom food item.

That's a new resource to me, thanks!

I have this same problem everyother morning! I usually just enter each ingreedient on it's own rather than creating a meal because you can't edit it right.

Another option (but you still have to enter the ingredients 1 by 1 is to use this:

Check out my blog to see what I add into my green monsters at www.mirandasjeans.blogspot.com (I really enjoyed the mango one from Tuesday).

What is your favourite Green Monster?

I usually create a meal of the entire food. So everything that you used. Enter it all in and save it as a meal. Then delete it all and go back and enter in that you ate .25 of that meal. It takes a while the first time, but if you ever cook it again, it makes it a lot easier. Also makes it easier to change your portions.

Like if I make a homemade pizza and eat a quarter one time and a third the other. I have so many things in "my meals" it's ridiculous.
  • Wonderful tips guys! Thanks so much!!!! I've only made this green monster so far, but I'm sure I'll make more. For those going to try it though, add more strawberries. Mine needed it!
