'Saving' calories for parties?

Hello, I'm new to MFP, looking for any advice on how to handle NYE or parties in general. I've been 'saving' 200 calories per day (still eating a total of 1500 per day at least) the last 4 days so that I can drink a bit more like I'm accustomed to tonight. Planning to stay within those 800 'saved' calories, though. Has anyone tried this? Will it backfire?

I don't know if it works or not but I'm going to play around with it a bit in the new year so I hope it does! X

I'm really not into the idea of saving for a week, or whatever like a lot of people do. Your body is not a bank. It doesn't know or work the same way as your brain.

Just let it go for NYE and enjoy yourself. Don't count. How unfun is that?

When I'm being smart I do this. It does work.

This absolutely works. I have a very active social life, and go out with friends pretty much every weekend.

I eat at a lower calorie amount during the week, and a higher one during the weekend.

    It works wonderfully.
