Firefighter Wives!

I started my weight loss journey 2.5 weeks ago and have already lost 6 lbs and 5 [total] inches. i'm doing this not only for myself and my self esteem, but considering my husband is a firefighter, and always has to be in shape for his job, i want to try to keep up with him.
i didnt start on this site until this past week. so, i'm looking for some "groupies" to be friends with on here, to support each other through this journey of gettin' skinny.
are there any other firefighter wives out there doing this with me?

I am not only engaged to a wonderful firefighterf/emt/911 dispatcher (getting married september 7th), but I am also a firefighter/first responder myself. I have noticed here lately that I have gained more and more weight and I am now very out of shape. When I am on scene I get out of breath a lot and have a hard time doing things like salvage and overhaul. I have to get back in shape! I just need support doing it!0

I have been married to a firefighter for over 20 years. We got married when I was 18 (He was 27). We have two kids of our own, who are 18 and almost 20. We also raised a neice, who is 30 and still lives with us. Our 18 yo is in college and our 20 yo has autism. The 30 yo neice has fetal alcohol syndrome and still resides with us as well.
DH's schedule is the Kelly Schedule so he is gone for 24 hrs at a time (minimum). I work FT as well.
They say it takes a special person to be a firefighter.....I say it takes a great person to be a firefighter's wife. LOL0 -
I am the wife of a firefighter!! My daughter and I eat healthy when my husband is at work. When my husband is home neither my husband or I have will power. That is why I joined MFP. Does anyone else have this issue??0
