Do i need to flat bench press for big chest

I am thinking of stopiing flat bench because it works mostly middle I am thinking concentrating on More Incline and Decline since people are lacking in Upper chest and a bigger chest will make it look better and decline to work the lower but of course Low bodyfat helps as well

  • Check out dips as well, great to develop the lower part of the pecs

I don't know that you'd need to entirely stop doing bench press, you could add in incline or decline or both as accessory lifts, or rotate them in and out/etc.

But that being said, I don't think any specific lift is absolutely necessary in order to build a physique.

Don't drop flat, add more decline and dips. I have the same lower chest issue and adding very heavy declines have started to balance me out.

Flys....hold the fly for 3 second counts. Reps till failure, lower by 10 and repeat..... then do pushups. This is giving me the striations.

I will never do decline anything. Read Bodybuilding by Pavil. That being said, you can't go wrong with the standard press. Dumb bell provide more control and I personally believe they put more emphasis on the chest, unlike the BB Bench.
  • I like DB alternating press. It really helps isolate the pec and you can press some heavy weight this way
  • I just came to gawk at xf7x....carry on....

If you insist on doing decline presses, that is your choice. I would never stop doing flat bench presses in order to do declines

Don't do decline bench. I wouldn't drop flat either, it's one of the best chest mass building exercises. What is your training age? it takes time for the pecs to fill out, especially the upper pecs. Having said that, some incline bench press and some overhead press work would do well for your upper chest.

Training age, not your actual age. I've been lifting since August, therefore my training age is 5 months. I've seen my upper chest filling out over time... Upper chest really gets pumped from doing high volume of overhead press. In general you want to work on the things that are hardest for you as that can address weaknesses.
