I think I've read this before.....to eat MORE than 1200 cal/day. I run on the treadmill and do home dvds for 30-45 mins 5-6 days a week, but feel like I plateau between a 7-12 lb loss. I haven't moved from there which has made me loose motivation over the last few months. Can someone please help me?? Should I up my cals and if so to what? I'm currently 155lbs and 5'4. Thanks!

How did you come up with 1200? or is this just the figure MFP gave you?

if you are going to follow MFP then you would eat 1200 PLUS your exercise calories.

otherwise, work out your actual calorie burn and then deduct a deficit for weight loss.

    Try this - http://www.fat2fitradio.com/tools/bmr/

but put in your actual weight as your goal weight too. that will give you some idea of your daily expenditure, and then you can deduct your deficit depending on your goals.

find out your tdee and create a deficit, or change mfp to very active and change goal to 1lb/week if your 10 lbs to your goal, 1.5 if you're between 10-40. If you're working out and not eating back your exercise calories your deficit may be too great. Definitely up cals to at least 1400/1600.

Yes, I try to eat somewhat healthy foods, but every now and again I have to cave just a little. Yes, mfp tells me to eat 1200/day and I do try to eat a little of my workout cals, but not all. Thank you for all of your input, I will adjust some of my settings and increase my cals a bit and see what happens.

Did you tell MFP you want to lose 2lbs a week? What happens when you tell it 1?
