Box gym suggestions.

So I workout with a trainer 3 times a week with kettlebells, dumbells and various floor/body work but I'm looking to add in some more during the other days of the week. I can't get to the other location she hosts the classes at, so I'm thinking I might try somewhere closer to home, mainly for the cardio equipment. (Ohnoes, dreaded cardio~)

The gyms I have closest to me are Snap Fitness and Planet Fitness. Those are a short drive or a nice jogging distance during the warmer weather. Does anyone workout at either of these gyms? Do you like what they have to offer?

I've heard bad things about Planet Fitness (like they don't have a squat rack and don't allow dead lifting). I'm not sure if you are into heavy lifting but in case you are / want to be, I wouldn't go with them. I know nothing about Snap.

I eventually want to get into heavy lifting, but I'm hoping to get home equipment for that so that my husband can spot me. I'm a huge wuss for doing that kind of stuff at a gym!

I spend the $20 per month at Planet Fitness for the Black Card. I've discovered I'd use more of the side benefits than I thought. I honestly have little intent to ever deadlift at the gym, would rather pick up personal equipment when we buy a house. I love it for the convenience, and the fact that I can go in... See familiar faces most days (even if we don't speak ).... And just do my cardio/lifting and be home in ten minutes (rather than somewhere with a more substantial drive). Also, if the weather sucks, there's a location for me closer to work so I can wait out the storm. ;)
