New Years Resolutions!?

I have had the goal of losing weight since I have my oldest son(who is 9 now). I have had enough of keeping this weight with me. New year means new goals. This sounds a bit qliche, but I think that I have more motivation to complete my goals this year. I am not getting any younger, and my health is decreasing. I want to be able to see my children grow up, and not have a bunch of medical problems that losing weight would decrease the chances of. I am the type that if I actually want it I can achieve it. If I can stay within my calorie range I can lose with no problem.
So that being said I plain to be 100 pounds lighter next year for my kids sake and my own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

My son is 8 1/2 and I've had the same goal. Still at my highest post-pregnancy weight. Not one to make resolutions, but this has been a long time coming. using all of the "resolution" energy as a motivator to jump start some serious lifestyle changes! Good luck to you too!

Thank you very much, and same to you. I am at my highest weight, and have added some since my youngest was born. It's not a good story, but I am also quitting smoking too. I don't smoke much anyway, so that should be the easier part. It also helps that my work place is smoke free. I am just sick of how I look and the only one that can change that is me. I wish you the best, and maybe we could work on it together. Add me if you'd like, best wishes.

I'm going to give up alcohol for the month of January, which will hopefully lead to drinking less throughout the rest of the year. It's such a social thing for me - It's going to be challenging!

Otherwise, I'm going to think about the things I'm fortunate to have when I think about how I "need" more.

And, just being healthier and happier in general.
