New Member needs "pals" for support!

Hi all! I am returning to MFP after a failed attempt at weight loss and a long absence... definitely need some friends to keep me motivated and hold me accountable! I am an early 30's female living in the Northeast. I promise to do the same for you and I am also great with helping with recipe tips, advice or just lending an ear. Looking forward to meeting you all- and happy new year! :)

  • Seems that "new year, new me" is a hit topic for a lot of folks here... really hoping that this becomes more than just a resolution for me. I am great at getting motivated, it's staying motivated that is my issue..lol.

Motivation is a team effort sometimes. I understand the thought of being able to get motivated but staying that way is difficult. If I get on that scale and it doesn't show a weight loss I will give up immediately. That is why we have to stick together and hold each other accountable for the things that we do. We really have to learn to be honest with ourselves though. If you cannot look in the mirror and see everything that you want to be then it's time you change your life. This should not be a new years resolution because people always give up on those types of things. This should be a new you resolution. You are changing the person that you are. You are changing your weight so that you can feel better about who you are. You are obviously unhappy with the person you have become underneath all that fat. You have to make yourself happy and the only way that can happy is to focus on your goal. It's not going to be easy but IT WILL be worth it! I have never been thin so I have no idea what i will look like as a skinny person but i am exciting in knowing that soon I will find out what I look like underneath all this weight. I promise you that i will support you in your goal and I will hold you accountable if you will do the same for me. Good luck my friend.
  • Me too. Early 30s gal, NW! Hi!
  • Started MFP January 1st 2012, lost 30 pounds but started to fall back into old habits... I've gained 8 pounds back but I'm hoping to lose those 8 and 35 more this year :) Last years 30 went pretty easy!! I cut out as much sugar and simple carbs as possible, I'm not a snacker and don't enjoy eating sweets so it wasn't brutal. I'm looking for friends to help with motivation, just a simple 23 year old cosmetology student enjoying life. Add me if you want some motivation 2!

My high was 279 (in 2006) - I have fluctuated from 240-279 over the last seven years). I am now at 264 and I'm starting fresh on MFP after switching from another site. I'm hoping to make this the year the year that I finally get healthy. I would love to support you and be supported on this journey.
