Isagenix??

First of all, I havent' been on the boards in at least 5 months, so if this topic has been brought up, I apologize!!!

Has anyone tried Isagenix??? Suddenly everyone I know is doing it, and raving about it...they say it's been around for 10 years, but this is the first time I have ever heard about it. A couple of my friends just started selling it, and they say that they have NEVER had so much energy, or felt so good...I am a little hesitant to jump on the Isagenix band wagon. First of all, the cost is enough to turn me off!!! Secondly, I come from a family of women (on both sides) who struggle with obesity. I have seen my aunts go through every diet out there. I have watched them crowd around a table listening to one of the sisters who decided to become a Herbalife rep, I have seen three of them talk about the wonders of Phen Phen, the grapefruit diet, Body by Jake, Slim4Life, and on and on...one of them even had bypass surgery 15 years ago. My perspective on life/health/diet/exercise is all about sustainability...if I can't make a change part of my lifestyle, I already know it will not work for me in the long run. Sure, I may have a few great months, maybe even a year, but after a while all of these crazy restrictions fail.

Also, from what my friends have told me, the program instructs you to consume two of their shakes a day, and have one sensible 400-500 cal meal...which puts you at about 1,000 cals a day. I don't think that is healthy!!! I think that anyone can lose weight when you restrict your calories by that much. Any thoughts??

The part that has me still considering it, is the fact that it really seems like a legitimately solid, nutritionally sound product. Has anyone watched the YouTube videos on it??? The one about the blood is CRAZY!!!!

Who has used Isagenix??? Did you love it?? Hate it???? Do you feel like it is sustainable for life (my friends are absolutely convinced that they will use it for life)? How do you feel about the cost??? Has anyone done just one shake a day with two sensible meals???

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!

This part of your post answered your own question. Isagenix is just another unsustainable gimmick/fad diet aimed only to make money for its MLM salespeople - just like Shakeology, Advocare, Body by Vi, etc. Read through the success stories forum here on MFP and see how many people attribute their success to any magic pill, shake, crash diet, etc. (Hint: there are very few, if any).

Stick with a reasonable caloric deficit and exercise program. Let your friends starve themselves and sip their "miracle shakes", then laugh in 6 months or a year when your weight loss is sustained and they've gained all theirs back.

You mean your friends, who sell the product, are raving about the results? Seems legit.

Sounds like you're suspicious though (as you should be) so don't take my above comment as an insult. See anvilheads post above.

1000 cal a day isn't healthy. I'd stick with your thoughts about changing your lifestyle versus going on a fad diet.
  • It works while you are taking and following their plan. It is very expensive. And as soon as you stop you gain everything and more back.

Stick with diet and exercise. That is proven to work. And isn't very expensive.

Hi! I am posting because I support you in every way with your weight loss journey, but have to say that while weight loss is the "hook", I feel at the end of the day that Isagenix is not a diet, it is a system to cleanse your body of toxins that we breathe, eat and drink, and to replenish the body with essential nutrients that today's food is deficient or void of. That said, whatever you choose to do, please continue to reach out for support and encouragement because that is a necessary key to success!

    To good health and success!

I feel at the end of the day that Isagenix is not a diet, it is a system to cleanse your body of toxins that we breathe, eat and drink, and to replenish the body with essential nutrients that today's food is deficient or void of.

Once I discovered that my kidneys and liver were just hanging out like 35 year old college dropouts in my basement I quickly switched over to Isagenix. Can you believe it? My body had no way of getting rid of toxins naturally. Further discovery showed that the food I was eating wasn't giving my body essential nutrients. My left femur had almost totally turned to jello before I found this out.

I hope this stuff works because I don't want to switch over to the cat-poop coffee and those special llama sweaters that attract sunlight that's only found in the Andes mountains in the purest and freshest air that blows off of the Amazon rain forest are expensive.

Your body – like everyone’s – accumulates impurities. Whenever your body has too many impurities due to stress, pollution or bad food, its ability to eliminate them is weakened. Your body then stores the extra waste in fat cells and this stored waste makes your body less efficient.

This stuff also gets rid of your pets and babies, then it places you in a neutral white Earth environment that's free of germs and toxins from the little pests.

The new sterile world these people live in after Isagenix will keep them toxin free as long as they continue to pay $200 a month for the products.
