I am good with water!

When I said that to a waiter at a restaurant, he started ignoring me immediately and I got a less than desirable service.
- He never asked how the food tasted
- He noted down the subsitutions I asked for except for they did not show up on my plate.

What's wrong if I want to eat my calories and not drink them?
I always enjoy a good appetizer and entree. I skip drink and dessert and save my calories for something I really like.

Dear Waiter- I am a good tipper- so I'll still tip well if you just did not throw the food on my table and leave.

Whatever? Has anyone had a bad experience dining out when you order water and not a sugary/alcoholic drink?
Vent over.

I always order water and don't think that in particular has caused any problems with waiters. How attentive was he before ordering water? That's the first thing you do anyway.

Every waiter is different. Did he say, oh, you ordered water, therefore I will ignore you?

He was probaby not a good waiter to start with. I didn't think that way when I was a server. He's just shooting himself in the foot.

He greeted really well and was all smiles.
Then came my order for water and that's it!!!!

Maybe you just got a bad waiter? I usually only order water with my food and doesn't seem to affect how I'm treated as a costumer.

    Hmm...you could try:
"No thank you, water is fine".

    Maybe that'll work?

As long as you order food they shouldn't give a damn about your drink choice or any other choice.

The only time I order something that costs money to drink is if I am using a coupon for the rest of the meal; like if I have a free pizza coupon I will be sure to order something else so I am paying something and can leave a tip.
