Looking for some MFP friends to help keep me motivated

Hey all,

I'm a 31 year old single male and I joined MFP at the end of November 2012. I started at 284 lbs and am down to 277 lbs. My goal weight is 180 lbs, so I have a little over 100 lbs total to lose. Now that the temptations of the holidays are over, I'm ready to really focus on improving my lifestyle and would love to meet other like-minded people that are starting out to help motivate one another to keep at it.

If you're interested in connecting and supporting one another, please feel free to add me.

Thanks and best of luck to all!

Dont give up :) keep up the great work. I been using this app for the last few months and I have lost almost 46 pounds, challenging my body and making changes. Really no one really realizes everything you put in your mouth until you start tracking your intake. If I can do I know you can do it buddy :) . I am currently at 166 lbs a big difference from when I use to weigh 350lbs. I lost 150 lbs on my own by just walking and eating right. Keep on motivating yourself if you need an extra buddy feel free to add me :)

Any kind of game plan or workout regimen you have in mind in order to lose the weight? planning is a key tool for me to keep going apart from motivation. Also to start with a more realistic goal like 10-15lbs. and go from there. Best of luck.
  • You can add me if you want! I joined the site a few days ago and I already met very nice people in here! I'm always up to make new friends!!!!

Hi Everyone! My name is Stefanie and I just started with MFP on 1/2/13 and I really would like to have some friends to keep me motivated and on track! My goal is to ultimatly lose 100lbs, but I will be happy with any loss at this point. I have tried so many diets and start out well then fall off the wagon so to speak. This time I am determined to make it happen! I dont know how to add friends since I am so new to the site, so any help would really be appreciated! Thanks everyone! :)
  • Oops! Newbie here... Meant to quote AND comment on that last post I quoted...

I just wanted to say how lazy I feel sometimes when I read that someone lost weight by walking and eating properly... It can really be as simple as walking? I really don't like groups of people so going to a gym is not even on my list of things to do, but I am able to walk! LOL! So, seriously? How many more use walking as their increased activity/daily exercise etc and find that sufficient? And what kind of walking? Comfortable? Speedwalking? The kind of walking with poles? Looking forward to your answers :) (and encouragement!)

I'm planning on starting simple. First goal is to get my calories/day in check (with the exception of a few days over the holidays, I've mostly been doing this for the last month). Next, I plan to improve my eating to make sure that those are quality calories. After that, I'm going to work on adding more workouts.
  • I added you! :)
