Need good scale suggestions - affordable but RELIABLE!

I have gone through three scales in the past year. All of them have been either Taylor or Health-o-Meter brand, and have cost around $30, which I thought was reasonable for a good scale. Guess I was wrong - they've all had the same issue. They work fine at first, then within a couple weeks they start fluctuating ridiculously. I'll step on the scale, step off, step on again and see two completely different numbers. The first two were mine, then I gave up but my roommate bought one (another Health-o-Meter), a slightly more expensive model that I thought would work better, but now it's starting to do the same thing.
I am ready to spend a little more money to invest in a good scale that will actually WORK. I'd like to stay under $100, but closer to $50 would be better. Have you found an affordable scale that is consistant and reliable?

Ive learned over the years to stay away from the scale and use a cloth measure tape ($2.00) and record inches... then I have no worries since the numbers cant jump around on the tape...0

Oh yes I take measurements too, and pictures. I think both of those things are better indicators than the scale... but I do like to keep track of my weight anyway.0 -
Do you put it in the same place every time you weigh yourself? I know our scale at home will vary by 2-3 pounds depending on where on the bathroom floor I place it. I just weigh myself at the gym because they have a fancy scale and it seems to be pretty accurate (consistent with the doctor's office).0

Yeah, every scale I've had stays in the same place 24/7, I don't move it around. For a while I was weighing myself at the gym but I prefer to weigh myself right when I wake up (by the time I get to the gym it's late afternoon and my stomach is full of food and water)0 -
I have this one, and for weight purposes, it works like a champ. If I can get my cats to sit still long enough, I can even weigh them without having to weigh me with them first, and then me alone, and then do the math.
It has a body fat feature that I don't use. I already know my body fat %, and that scale function is WAY off. But weight wise? It's been holding strong for several months now.

Ooooh that one is so cool-looking! Haha thank you.0 -
I've had a weight watchers scale from target for the past 2+ years. It has a memory which is kind of annoying but otherwise I'm happy with it. It was about $30 also. It's also cute, with red and pink stripes lol0

I used to do the same thing, weigh myself at the gym-- which is on campus btw-- but there would be times when campus was closed for holidays.0 -
I've had a Tanita InnerScan scale since 2007. It's a good reliable scale with a long battery life. Tanita no longer makes the model I have. Prices for Tanita scales are all over the board, and there are a few InnerScan models priced under $100.
I like that I can turn the scale on with my toe before stepping on. I use it first thing every morning, and the batteries last about a year.0
