    Welcome and I found for the first month to carry around a mini notebook to record my meals/snacks. I found the phone app to be nice but a little cumbersome plus I couldnt have my phone everywhere. It also got me into the habit of recording everything and after the first month or two the notebook went away but the meal recording stuck with me.
