Cherry Bakewell Cake

For Tracy - and anyone else who wants it!

Recipe name: Cherry Bakewell Cake

Number of servings: 16 (recipe suggested 12 but I reckon you get at least 16!)

Ingredients Calories Carbs Fat Protein Sugar Sodium
Bertolli - Light With Olive Oil - Reduced Fat Spread, 200 g 700 2 76 0 0 6
Silver Spoon - Caster Sugar, 200 grams 800 200 0 0 200 0
Tesco - Ground Almonds, 100 g 623 20 51 22 5 0
Tesco - Self Raising Flour, 100 g 335 69 1 10 1 400
Generic - Baking Powder, 1 tsp 5 2 0 0 0 5
Queen - Almond Essence, 1 tsp (5ml) 8 1 0 0 1 250
Eggs - Whole, raw, 4 medium 259 1 17 22 1 246

Mix all above ingredients in a bowl with a whisk.

Grease 2 x 6-7" cake tins and then split cake mix equally (ish) into both tins.

Bake in a preheated oven - 180' for 25-30 mins.


Silver Spoon - Icing Sugar, 30 g 120 30 0 0 30 0
Queen - Almond Essence, 0.5 tsp (5ml) 4 1 0 0 1 125

Mix above for icing on top of cake, once cooled.

Aldi Grandessa - Strawberry Jam, 30 g 72 18 0 1 17 0

Any jam - cherry I guess would be best considering it's meant to be 'cherry' bakewell, but kids prefer strawberry and it's what I had in!!!

Total: 2926 344 145 55 256 1032
Per Serving: 183 22 9 3 16 65

So 183 cals for a slice (16th) of the cake once finished.
