can't stand this anymore

So I've never joined a weightloss website before but I've gotten to the point that I can't stand my body anymore and I'm bound and determined to drop my extra 67 lb. Wish me luck (and long term motivation)!

I am sooo with you. I have gotten to the point where I hate my body. Need to lose about 35-40 lbs. When you are thin, everything looks got, when you're fat, not sooo much! LOL It is depressing not feeling good about yourself. I joined this site (first weight loss thing - site, club etc for me ever). This site seems excellent and love the app on my smart phone. love the scanning foods with the bar code reader. I find, thinking ahead about my foods is a big help. Feel free to add me as a friend. this is the Year!

Feel free to add me ladies! I joined 6 months ago and love it! Unfortunately many of the friends I started with have either quit or happily reached their goals.

Hi. I just joined yesterday and I want to lose about 50 pounds. I am totally fed up with feeling fat, old, and being left out. We can do this!!! I am joining an exercise group today and I will need lots of support and motivation too. I cried all the way home from shopping this past weekend with my 14 year old daughter in the car. She said " Mom, quit talking about it and do it". Well I am going to and so can you!

I need to do something! I was researching weight watchers. Seems expensive. Has anyone tried it??

I think that Weight Watchers is expensive and for me the meetings were very inconvienent. You are losing weight by yourself but paying the weekly fee for the support of the meeting. We can support each other every day here for free!

WW is $40/month on the monthly pass. It's not that bad, but really what you're getting out if it is access to their e-tools (similar to this), a weekly weigh in (which you can do on your own with a reliable scale), validation, and support (can get it online too). I really do like WW and feel it's a good program, but I also think that if you're watching your food intake through the balance of the protein/fat/carbs/calories that you're doing the same thing.

I'm the same way as all of you! I've been bouncing back and forth for years and years. I've been on WW more times than I can count on one hand. I've done all of it. I need to "move more" and get more exercise and stop finding excuses. I'm doing better with the eating but think it kinda goes hand in hand. I need to lose about 80 pounds and it's overwhelming!!

Using the calorie counter to track my food has helped me so much. I keep thinking, I can lose 2lbs or 5lbs. I just have to do it about 10 more times to get to my mini goal and then start again! I try not to think about losing 100lbs as that can be very overwhelming.

Good luck! This site is so very helpful.

i recently joined the site. You mentioned a "bar code reader". I didn't notice that on the site and can't seem to find it. Can you tell me where it is? Thanks!
  • I am so ready to lose my new found pounds, that have been accumulating for the last year. I lost my job that was very active and went back to school. Suddenly eating the way I always have isn't working anymore. Looking forward to any support from any and everyone. Please feel free to add me to your friends so we can all do this together.

I did WW after my baby was born 4 years ago and lost 7 lbs and quit because I thought it was too expensive. I went to the meetings and felt a little odd and I started to learn how it all "worked". I downgraded to E-tools which was still $16 a month. I haven't lost any weight since (in fact I've gained) and found MFP earlier this year. I haven't been committed to it like most folks here but I feel I am this time and made some wonderful friends during this process. You can get all WW provides to you FREE using this site!

You're only going to get the barcode reader from the iOS or smart phone apps. It isn't available from the website. I wish it were, though!

I joined this site and I've done pretty good so far. I still have a long journey ahead of me, but w/o this site, I think I would still be where I was before I started. There are a lot of great friends on here and tracking your intake is so easy because there are so many food choices in the database. Anybody can feel free to add me if they want. I'm always open to new friends! :)

Congrats for getting motivated and getting here! I would urge you to think of this as a health/fitness site and not just a weight loss website... this journey is about more than just the scale.. at least I have found it to be more. Good Luck and go get em!

Yep! Agree with all of this!
