Hi, im new to MFP, and i was wondering about the little nutrition chart that comes up on my iPhone. It is tracking all the carbs, protein, fats etc. and saying that i have gone over my limit for polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats and my sugars and fibers...i still have 472 calories left to eat (it'sbefore dinner time here)...

Should i be too concerned about these nutrition thingys and just watch my calories??

  • You will always go over your polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats as their is no limit for these. Fiber shouldn't be anything to worry about and I would only worry about sugar if it is refined processed sugar as opposed to sugar from fruit and veg. xx

It is all up to you on which numbers to worry about . As for me I am mainly watching my calories. If there are certain things you are concerned about, like cholesterol or sodium intake, then watch them. And adding more fiber to your diet is always good for you. Again, it's all up to you.

This might help you figure out your daily requirements.

If you want to change you "allowed" limits, you can change them on your myfitnesspal.com webpage.
Go to your Home tab, then right below that click goals. Then below click change goals, and choose custom.
I think it should all sync up with your iPhone app.

I am pretty new to this site too. But I suspect that if you set custom goals, it may not adjust you daily calorie requirements as you lose or gain weight, but I'm not really sure. If it doesn't you could always adjust it once a week if needed.

Hope this helps, and good luck!
