Based on advice from many of you.... I changed my goal from losing 2lbs a week to losing 1lb per week.. and that upped my daily calories to 1320 from 1200.. i dont know why that scares me but it does.. 1200 has always been my magic number, its all i have known when I have attempted to diet.
I know I sound crazy.. but even if I DONT workout every day and eat the 1320.. I wont gain, right?
I know, I sound ridiculous. lol

I felt the same way for a long time but my body actually did much better eating more calories 1300-1500 and then exercising it down to 1200 net. my body felt more "comfortable" releasing those pounds because I was staying away from that "starvation mode" level and I felt better physically, more alert, more energy and didnt feel like i was missing out on anything because I could work in that cookie or piece of chocolate that I wanted. Good luck with your weighloss!0

It's not that much more so I don't know why you are scared. Do it, your body will thank you for giving it fuel to run well.
You won't have to attempt to diet if you lose eating more ever again because you shouldn't yo-yo like we tend to when eating so low cal.0 -
You really don't need to worry. MFP is taking the weight you gave it, and combining it with the activity level you specified and actually saying 1820 is what it would take for you to maintain your weight, then subtracting 500 per day to equal a 1lb loss (since 1lb = approximately 3500 Calories.) so if you entered a correct weight and are maintaining the same activity level you specifed 1320 is well under what it would take for you to maintain, much less gain.
Don't stress. :-) Yes, every body is different; and yes, the numbers (for food, for exercise, for BMR) are estimates; but there's really not a concern of you gaining that I can see. Try to focus on eating well, being active and strive for health instead of letting these numbers scare or define you! :-)
(OP, in case it's in any way unclear, since it's sometimes hard to read between the lines on the internet, I totally mean this as a pep talk and not in any way sarcastic.)0 -
You should be fine. I stalled out eating only 1200. Plateaued for 4 months and couldn't lose no matter how hard I pushed. Jumped up to 14-1500 and Im losing again (inches anyway). Not sure WTF is up with that, but there you go....0
