Allo! Bonjour!!!

No I am not French but I love French Food as well as Italian food. Carbs are my nemesis!!

My name is Angela, 28 years old, I have decided to lose weight and get healthy for myself and myself only. I think it's time!!! Although I do have a long distance "boyfriend" and it would be nice to boost my self-esteem...I am not going to put crazy pressure on myself to do that in 5 months!!!

My health is paramount to me. I've seen family members have health problems in the past. I don't want to be added to that list. I have hypothyroidism, had gallbladder problems (now no gallbladder) and, also anxiety. Ever since my dad died...and I went back to college...I gained and gained. I also have IST (innappropriate sinus tachy.). Needless to say, I need a positive fitness buddy or buddies to journey with!!! I'm an emotional eater...as well as one who skips meals. I desperately need ideas for lunches at work also! Please help lol.

Best of Luck, Angela

Bonjour Angela! I just had to reply to your post as I've just joined to try and get slim for a holiday in Paris in the Summer. I've got quite a lot to lose but I want to be able to relax while I'm there and feel just as chic as those Parisians!

I also have family health motivations too - my mum is diabetic now and so was her mum and so I also want to lose weight to help me try to avoid going the same way - I'm 36.

My biggest problem is exercise - I really struggle to get into a regular routine with exercise. So I think that will be the key to any success for me, trying to find a weekly exercise routine that I can stick to.

Bonne chance with your weight loss!
  • Wow am I ever glad that you replied!!! I have been to Paris once and trust me, you will love it. Unless you have been before...you know what I mean!!! If I won the lottery tomorrow..I would live there six months of the year...learn French and rent.

I could never really understand why most Parisians were so skinny. Then I realized they walk everywhere, most don't drive...they have 2 hour lunches as allowed by their employer...they also have healthy fats all the time like avocado. I think in Winter...all they eat is Soup and a little bit of bread for lunch. Very light!! Well...I know u will enjoy yourself. We seem to have the same target as far as Summer goes. When I was in Paris, I was a size 8/10...went to Venice also. Got back...realized I had gotten bigger but not from Paris food because I walked tons! I got fat because my thyroid no longer worked LOL. That's one thing out of the way. If you have not already booked a place, I highly suggest...Montparnasse area. Hotel Le Royal is where I stayed and it was AWESOME!!!

Nice to meet you and good luck on your goal. Keep in touch please. And let me know what works for you! Excercise is a struggle for me...but if not going to the gym and walking in fresh air works for the French...I am guessing it will work for me too. Baby Steps!!!

    Bonne Chance as well!

    Angela :-)
