Im such a picky eater

im stuck on a 1500 calorie for a few weeks. My problem i hate a lot of veggies and such. I hate dark meat save for ham and im not much of a fish eater. ( horrid i know) I want to make sauteed mushrooms low calorie as a snack but it seems that seems to almost never go bellow 100 calories.

Im stuck and i need help i know i should force myself to eat the other stuff thing is if i do that then i wont enjoy this and ill end up quitting and i dont want that. Anyone have some good low calorie ideas for a breakfast, and lunch that would leave my dinner just a tad bit more open? :flowerforyou:

I think i found the best one

Mushrooms with Extra virgin olive oil. comes to around 80 calories i think. Anyone else have better?

    Breakfast
Whole wheat tortilla with scrambled egg and 1 Tbspn salsa
    Oatmeal
    Low fat yogurt and fruit
    Protein shakes
    Nuts, avocadoes,

    Lunch
    Raw fruit, salad

As for veggies, keep eating them. Try making them different ways (search this site for past threads asking for recipe ideas and healthy snacks). Veggies are low in calories and supply what your body needs to stay healthy. Same for raw fruit.

I am a picky eater too but as a mom I have had to suck it up and eat things I didn't necessarily like to be a good example of healthy eating for my kids. Keep eating your veggies...try again and again until you finds ones you like.

Here are over 100 snack ideas for under 100 calories: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Robin_Bin/view/snacks-of-100-calories-or-less-267198 (varying levels of healthiness or filling)

I find if I eat something with protein for breakfast it takes longer before I'm hungry again than if I eat the bread, cereal or fruit I used to eat. Trader Joe's makes some frozen french toast for about 110 calories a slice. Most people like some vegetables -- find the ones you like or the ways to prepare them that you'll enjoy more. I like vegetables "hidden" in other foods, like lasagna, frittatas, filling out sandwiches. Good luck finding what works for you. I agree that if you don't find some things you can enjoy, sticking to it long term is much harder. Dark meat tends to be more calorie dense than things like eggs or poultry, so it may be an advantage that you don't like it. Fruit's great! Look through some of the recipes posted here and try a few that look good to you. Best wishes!
