Thank you all for the words of encouragement on this first day of my journey. My run to the consignment shop was a success, but I did keep one pair of old sweats for exercise, as advised by many of you wonderful people. I also went to the grocery store and bypassed all the junk food isles, including the bakery! Fresh fruit and veggies only! Running these errands during lunchtime proved to be even more encouraging as my new found determination, despite my hungry tummy, helped me drive right by McD's, Wendy's, and Arby's! I'm home eating salad with my homemade fat free dressing and getting reacquainted with the feel of jeans. But best of all, after I changed into the jeans, my almost 3 yr old granddaughter said, "Nana what are you wearing? You look so 'bootiful'! Wow another eye opener...this precious child has rarely seen me in anything other than sweats. Thanks again everyone. I'm gonna do this!

Yes those little darlings have keen observations. When my little nephew (age 2) lived with me he went from noting that Auntie Lolo always has treats in her room to noticing when I emerged from my lair every day dressed in workout clothes. He'd say, YOU WORK OUT? and I'd reply YES I DO, THANKS FOR NOTICING even though I knew he was just asking if that's where I was going.
Careful though, my friend's toddler announced in church during the children's sermon (in front of the entire congregation) that her mommy sweats a lot on the treadmill.0 -
My son was watching me do my P90X this morning. He said, "when I was little you were kinda, you know, HEAVY! Now that you exercise you look good." It made me feel good and I'm glad he is noticing my efforts.0

My 11 year old loves to 'help' me exercise during my kettlebell workouts. He reminds me it is OK to take breaks and brings me water and says how proud he is. When I do my planking, he holds the stopwatch and cheers me on as loud as he can. Absolutely the cutest thing ever!!0
