Boudoir Motivation!

Beginning of March I'm doing a Boudoir shoot as a gift for my husband.
This shoot is my motivation for keeping on track with the weight loss.
I've read many stories about positive experiences doing the shoot and how it is a self esteem booster. I'm really hoping I walk away from the experience feeling better and more confident.
Has anyone else done a shoot? If so, what was your experience like?

I JUST said yesterday that I'm going to do one once I meet a certain weight goal. You'll have to let me know all about it! I'm already so excited and for me it's a LONG way off!0

Ooh, I bet he'll love that c: Never done one, but I hope you have a good experience!0

I definitely want to do one as well as I heard the same things! Although the pictures would be all for me seeing's how I don't have a significant other to give it to.
I am sure you will love it!0 -
I have been dying to do one! I want that ONE picture! My husband would love it. Maybe if your experience is good I may give it a whirl in a few weeks0

...well...lol... I guess it's a gift for my husband AND me.
I've been wanting to do one for a long time. Just never got the courage to do it. I figured booking it will help me get motivated.0 -
A "pin up girl" type photo session is what's on my goal list...I think it's a wonderful motivator and gift to ourselves after ALL this hard work! Think my hubby would enjoy it as well.
At first I thought the post was about "boudoir activities" as motivation, haha! But, can't lie, that's a motivator for me as well...will be nice to enjoy that part of life w/out worrying about jiggly parts.

lol... no not about boudoir activities. Although boudoir activities are a good way to burn a few extra calories!0 -
I want to do this when I have hit goal!0

I was thinking about this, too! I think my boyfriend would absolutely love it.0

did this for DH's first christmas gift....i'm usually behind the camera, not in front, but my friend was getting married and her wedding photog had a mini promo on for a boudouir shoot, makeup etc. so i ended up signing up that day not really thinking about it....
it was scary thinking i'd have to be in underwear (or less!) in front of a stranger (there were 3 photographers in total) but you only had to do whatever you were comfortable with and you could be silly or whatever. I got some decently nice but cheap outfits from Winners/Marshalls and they had someone to do makeup. the pictures looked STUNNING. i think in the end, i prob did it much more for myself, because i LOVE the way i looked in those shots. My DH likes them for sure (as part of the package we could get a book made for 10 prints etc), but....i can't believe i looked so good!
DO It! (but choose a reputable photographer...and take a look at their work too, the lighting, the props, where their studio is etc.)0 -
I did this for my husband as a wedding present, LOVE them, even though I was 25 lbs heavier then than I am now! it's amazing, the camera work makes you feel gorgeous no matter what!
Am planning a pin up shoot once I reach my next goal, mainly so I can blow up the photos or make a calendar of me! (ha ha I am shameless)0 -

I know people who have done this and second this advice. Make sure the photographer is reputable, even maybe specifically recommended if you can.
Also, from what others have said to me, I would make sure the shoot also includes makeup/hair. You might consider factoring in a change of look/hairstyle (both time and cost). Some say it can be fun to bring a very good friend along, others say that solo is best. For some people, having a good friend there can make them more at ease with the strangers. For others, they might be more embarrassed. You have to know you on that one.
The other comments I have heard are to make sure you bring multiple outfits, props, etc. Personal/non-tradional things can be good for this too (your SO's hockey jersey, their hockey stick, their ski jacket, one of their dress shirts, etc.). It all doesn't have to be Frederick's type stuff. Let your relationship and your personalities be a guide for this.
Doing some of this may likely make it cost a bit more but it should add to the overall experience and product.0 -
I made it later in the afternoon so that I could take the morning and early afternoon to get my hair, makeup and nails done. I haven't picked a place to do the hair and makeup yet...I'm still shopping around for that.
I'm still looking for outfits. I'm going with some girlfriends so I'll have some input. I'm totally lost when it comes to accessories, so I'm going to need help in that area for sure!
The photographer I found through a livingsocial deal. They specialize in boudoir photography so I think it's safe. It's two women too so I think I'll be more comfortable than with a man. They offer a friend coming along too... I haven't asked a friend to come yet... I don't know if I want one to come with me. Maybe one named Jose... He comes in a little bottle. Maybe ya'll have heard of him? lol0 -
Haha...love Jose! He's played a part in many "boudoir" moments.
You're gonna have a blast!0
