Niggles

You know them niggles/cravings when you start dieting, you have cravings for the food you are used to eating, such as fatty or salty food. This usually happens for me either before dinner or late at night.

What is the best idea to combat this, would it be to drink more water when your hungry or perhaps there is a food that I can actually snack on and not add too much to the calories?

Something with lots of protein. For example, tonight to curb a craving and an after dinner twang I microwaved a cup of chopped apple topped with tons of cinnamon and a tsp of raw agave. Then I poured that on top of two tablespoons of whole milk plain greek yogurt. Stir and YUM! No more craving and I am satisfied.

I like the low sodium almonds, dried apricots and grapes. Satisfies the sweet and the salty. Or you can steam an apple add some cinnamon and a lil dollop of low fat whipped cream or no sugar added ice cream (tastes like the real thing) and tastes like apple pie. :) Peanut butter and apples also is filling and good and I really like hummus and veggies.
