Hi, i'm shanna. i became a member a while back and had alot of stress from work and home and quit, i dieted for about a month without exercise and lost 6lbs now i've gained that plus some back. well now i have support, i have a friend who is also trying to loose weight. going to join the same gym as her and maybe we can do this together. i have about 150 i'd like to loose. tired of my ex always calling me the fat *****. and always using fat in his insults when we fight ( we have 2 kids together) the man i'm with now is wonderful, we have a daughter together so 3 kids for me total, they are the main cause of my weight gain. then just letting myself go after i ahve them didnt help either. i'm really trying to diet right and make family meals that are healthy and not something difficult which alot of recipies i see do call for alot of work and thats hard to do with a full time job then come home and make dinner then TRY to maybe go to the gym. my boyfriend doesn't really understand healthy food....his idea of a healthy dinner is fried something with corn, mashed potatoes and mac n cheese........too much startch and grease!!! i really hope i can get the ball rolling and get into a routine of eating the right things and getting to exercise when i want, i'd like to do it 3 or 4 times a week. anyone else have a family and job trying to manage weight loss? tips PLEASE

I joined a year ago and have had my ups and downs as wel, loss of my father, my mom is very sick, stress and layoffs at work etc...its been hard and have been up and down constantly. I find I'm an emotional eater...so starting back at it after a very difficult year of a lot of sadness....feel free to add me and I look forward to being a supportive friend here on MFP0

I have definitely been where you are! I do great with keeping a healthy lifestyle for about 6 months or so and then something will happen in life and I will slowly just stop trying. Then after 6 months or so of not caring I decide it's time to try again. I try not to get too down on myself because I haven't stopped trying. I would be afraid to think of what size I would be and how I would feel if I hadn't had moments of healthiness over the last few years! So thats my main advice, don't get too overwhelmed with how far you have to go that you can't see the progress you have already made!0
