UK looking!!!

I am soon moving to the UK and would love to find some buddies over there and also would like to know if there are any good health stores over there and if they have their own version of a GNC (gnc being a health/vitamin store)?

Thanks

We have Holland & Barrett - not sure if that's similar!

ETA whereabouts in the UK are you moving to? I've lived here all my life and (despite the weather) wouldn't want to be anywhere else

There's loads of us Brits on here. Search for groups and you'll find us all. More the merrier! :drinker:

And we have GNC too! There's one in our town centre.

Where will you be moving to?

Yep, Holland & Barrett and other independent stores in most reasonable sized towns. Online ordering is ok too, I use Lamberts http://www.lambertshealthcare.co.uk/.

Moving with the Airforce to Lakenheath AFB. I currently do not know what town that is near so any helpful advice is appreciated! Holland and Barret looks just like what I wanted thanks Mary!

It's beautiful round there! There are loads of towns in East Anglia that will have what you need. There is (or used to be) a fantastic health food shop in Cambridge if you ever found yourself there.

ETA - yup, still there https://www.revital.co.uk/

Lakenheath is a little out of the way (Norfolk/Suffolk area), but the countryside is beautiful. You aren't that far from me in Essex. Holland and Barrett have shops all over the place so you'll find almost everything you want there. GNC is around, but you may have to travel to go there. They both have good websites though.

Currently over at Lakenheath. Miildenhall is right down the road. Bury St Edmunds is a large shopping district that's about 25-30 mins away. Cambridge, another great place, is 35-40 mins away.

Ah Suffolk/Norfolk area. You will find it rural, though also fairly close to beaches, full of oldy worldy charm. The town itself is pretty small and there probably wont be a health shop but all the bigger towns near by will have them. Bury St Edmunds is the nearest bigger town and there are also Norwich and Cambridge to consider.

Cambridge would be you best bet.

Holland and Barrett are severely lacking in the sports department and their prices are ridiculous.

You may be very lucky and manage to find a sole trader specialist shop, but it would be very lucky.

Some larger Tesco supermarkets have a Nutricentre shop in store, but they're not that common either. Oh! There's seems to be one in nearby Thetford, 30mins drive.

Hey like others have mentioned we have holland and barret and gnc. Our supermarkets are quite good for healthy food though. Our local morrisons has so much fresh fruit and vegetables. I live further up north between Nottingham and Sheffield. Enjoy x

I get my stuff from GNC! So you'll find one near you I'm sure! I live on an old ex US base and we used to go shopping at Lakenheath before my pass ran out:grumble:

I live in Bristol UK. There are several independent health food stores and large names like GNC and Holland and Barrett. I tend to buy my supplements online for price sake. Unless there are special offers on, in the aforementioned places : )
