Hi all,
I am looking for a buddy. I have been on and off MFP for a couple of months, but now I am finally sucking it up, buckling down, and getting rid of this weight. Not losing, because I do not plan to find it again. :-) So anywho, I looking for others to help motivate me and visa versa!

I'm a homeschooling mom of 3 I have a 4th grade girl, pre-k girl, and an (almost) 2 year old boy! Hard to find time to get out and exercise, especially when it's cold. I think once the little ones are a little bit older it will get easier. Thoughts?0

I have realized recently that the stairs are my new best friend thanks to the snow. lol. We use a mix of Switched on Schoolhouse, BJU Press, Saxon, free things found on the web, and games. My kiddos are in 3rd, 2nd, 2yr old and 4months. Craziness around here. lol What types of methods/curricula is everyone using/have used?0

I've been homeschooling for 3 years and doing this for 1 month. Ugh. I have lost 4-5 lbs. I'm thankful, but its too cold to exercise, so what are you doing for that? HELP. I'm getting discouraged, because I am always over my calories.0

Tomorrow, I am planning to go to the library and take a peek at their exercise dvd section. I am going to try to find a family one. Maybe you could do the same. If you have a basement, could you make room for the kids to run around and an area for you to exercise?0

Other than the workout classes I take and teach, I'm a SAHM. We're more unschoolers than homeschoolers, but feel free to add me if you like.0

I'm a SAHM, homeschooled for 6 years although this year we are "home educating" our kids are doing Iowa Public Online. 3 kids ranging from 6 to 15. I've just restarted my weight-loss journey. I lost 60 pounds in 2011, only to gain 40 of it back due to stress eating last year. Now I'm getting back on track and determined to keep it off for good.
Feel free to add me if you'd like.0 -

A-yup. I homeschool my two daughters, 12 and 9. The younger one is physically disabled and has some learning disabilities. They've both been homeschooled from K on, after a year of private preschool to learn all those things like "share your crayons" and "wash your hands" and "Don't cut in line."
We are mostly classical homeschoolers -- strong emphasis on Latin, history, reading and grammar.
Feel free to add me if you like! That goes for anyone here, not just the OP.0 -
Hello, new on here, but I homeschool our three children. 9th, 7th, and 4th. We use SOS and saxon. Getting them in shape with me. We are a bunch of lazy stay at home people. But going to start getting out 3 or more days a week to exercise for the 9th graders PE.
Feel free to add me, would love all the friends I can get.0 -
We use Teaching Textbooks for math, Real Science 4 Kids for Chemistry, and we use Trail Guide to Learning Paths of Exploration for everything else. With occasional cursive, and extra grammar (Growing with Grammar).0

Would you fine ladies please send me a message with what type of curriculum ideas you use for your kids. My wife and I are setting things up for our daughter to be Homeschooled. I could use your advice and experience. Any links or other types of resources that you find to be useful would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks0

I'd appreciate some help on this topic too. I need to homeschool my daughter ASAP and have no idea how to go about it.
The first thing that you need to do is fund out the law in your state. After you know that you can look into other things like your schedule and curriculem.
Find out the law from this site. hslda.org/default.aspx0 -
Yay! I homeschool/unschool my 2 boys and always have. They are now 15 & 13. I usually work from home but recently took a temporary full-time job which has been really interesting for the boys. They have learned very quickly how to be responsible for their own work (I leave them a to do list each day) and getting themselves to Parkour, Homeschool co-op and Homeschool bowling league. I think they are enjoying their independence. I, however, am missing being home and look forward to returning there by summer. I like the full-time paycheques though.
I've been on mfp for a year through ups and downs (weight-wise and life-wise). I would love some homeschoolin' friends.0 -

We don't use a curriculum but do use texts and workbooks when they fit what we want to do. We used Miquon for math and Explode the Code . Some Critical Thinkng books, made our own unit studies, and mostly just DID lots of stuff.0 -
I have never been a SAHM, but we homeschooled, and dad stayed at home. Our kids are in 8th and 9th grades now and in public school for the first time this year. (And dad is about to head to college! Woot!)0

Homeschooling sahm here too. I am also a full time student myself. I am homeschooling my 16 yr old son this year. We are using Penn Foster. Hoping to shed this weight and get healthier.0
