Weightloss & TTC

Options
Hiya,

I'm Hayley, aged 30. Mum of 2 boys and married for 10 years. I live in the West Midlands, England.

I'm 266lbs and I NEED to get this weight off so I can have another baby. I have been trying to conceive for 6 years and 1 month now.

Today I have started a VLCD called Slim & Save.

Is anyone else TTC while losing weight and want to be my weightloss/ttc buddy???

Yes Im loosing weight so hopefully I get pregnant soon. We havnt used any protection for a year. But my doc says I should be fine. I wanted to be a healthy weight so I could have a healthy pregnancy and I am hoping it happens real soon.

Yes! My husband and I have been trying for a few years almost now : ( Im also trying to lose weight for a healthy pregnancy. I miscarried a few times now so its been a frustrating journey. I hope if I can get to a healthier weight I can have a healthier experience...Ive also been seeing a specialist.

Sorry to hear of your losses hun

You have to be TTC 12 months where I am before I could get referred to the local fertility clinic. In 2009 they did an internal scan and said my left ovary had cysts so gave me meds for PCOS. In 2010 I got re-scanned to be told they could no longer see cysts on my left ovary. My longest cycle was 95 days, I seem to have regulated now to around a 33-35 day cycle now.

I had been on the pill for 9 years constantly with no breaks. I came off the pill Dec 2004 and found out I was pregnant March 2005. When my son turned 1 I came off the pill again to try for our 2nd baby and 6 years 1 month later I'm still not pregnant. I've not had any other pregnancies but my sons. When I had him I was around 15st. I'm currently 19st

The other thing I have against me is my hubby is 20 years and 8 months older than me and his sperm count wasn't the best. So unless I can get my BMI below 35 (it's currently 45.7) I wont be offered any fertility drugs or IVF....

It's so hard I have 4 friends who are currently preg mostly later stages and another one who told me Thur last week she is 12 wks pregnant. Even when I took my son to town last week there were young babies and preg bellies everywhere!! I'm so happy for my preg friends especially the ones who also had TTC troubles but inside I just wanna curl up and cry forever.

Well done on your loss so far hun

If I cant conceive naturally even at my goal weight then I need to get it off as soon as so I can qualify for IVF. I'm probably only entitled to one free go.

I'm not TTC now but I'm contemplating trying for a 3rd baby when my daughter turns 2 in May. I've got a 3.5 year old son too.

I'm about 10 lbs off a BMI of 24.9, so I know it's not loads, but I'd like to lose around 15lbs and get rid of my flabby belly before I try for another baby.

My BMI was about 27 when I got pregnant with my first, and maybe 28 when I got pregnant with my 2nd, so I'd like to start a pregnancy as a thin person!

Hey ladies! I am currently TTC for baby #1. My DH and I have been trying for 6 months this month. He just went and got a SA done today and I had a few tests done and I am all okay. Is it possible to try to get prego and lose weight at the same time? I mean, I am still working out and I never net anything below 1200 and as soon as I find out I am prego I will not try to lose weight but I mean while ttc can I still lose weight?
