I know that cold water helps boost metabolism. How does water help aid in weight loss? Does it speed up metabolism?? If so...How??

It keeps you from retaining water (being bloated, extra lbs./water weight). When your body doesn't have enough water, it holds onto it because it's dehydrated. When you drink, it releases that weight because it knows it's going to get water and therefore, doesn't need to hold it anymore.0

You'll eat less when you have adequate water. When I am dehydrated I am sooo much more hungry the whole time than when I am not.0

that's awesome to hear - i've increased my water this week & was hoping for it to help0

also, the majority of the time when we think we're hungry, we're really just thirsty, so drinking lots of water can help keep you from eating more than you should0

Water is like oil for your car. It won't increase performance...but not enough you won't perform as efficiantly as you could, and even lower levels can cause big problems.0

I find water helps tremendously, although I have no scientific evidence for what I experience. But for me, water keeps my cravings at bay, AND I find it keeps my mood more stable, which means I'm less likely to get into one of my whiney "I want junk food!" moods. I definitely notice those happen more when I'm dehydrated.0

Also, water is required to hydrate your skin so that it shrinks with you and doesn't end up sagging all over the place once you've lost all your weight. That alone is enough to keep me chugging away at it all day long.0

Awesome! I need some inspiration and motivation to drink more. I just don't like drinking plain water..I usually only drink diet soda. It is horrible, I know.0

I have new motivation to increase & maintain my water intake!!!
Water intake (lack of) is my biggest pitfall!0 -

Yeah! I usually get the 0cal water flavours, it helps me so much! (the walmart equivalent brand) cheaper then crystal light0 -
For those who don't like drinking water, try it with lemon or lime in it. Also you can try a splash of fruit juice or even the Sobe Life Waters. When I drink those I use 1/4 of a bottle and mix it with a huge glass of ice water. Easy to drink.0

I can't stand plain water either but I keep water in the refrigerator to keep it real cold and then when I get off of the treadmill, I drink a big glass of it and it is really quite refreshing. The rest of the time I put flavor packs in it.0 -
I personally am not a huge fan of plain water, so what I drink most is Propel flavored water........its not carbonated like so many other flavored waters and it taste great......makes drinking water a lot easier. I've also noticed with drinking water my skin looks sooooo much better, even my daughter whom I just visited last week in VA, who hasn't seen me in 8 months, couldn't believe how great my skin looked.......not to mention the 23 pounds gone since she's seen me last.....Made me feel so good when she said how great I looked!! Things like that keep you motivated0
