  • You can always find a partner in the forums or set fitness/food challenges for yourself, like whole30 which is a 30 day plan or sign up for a 5k and do the couch to 5k program. I feel like being accountable can be somewhat negative idea -- instead of punishment I've established big rewards for me when I hit certain weights as well as small rewards for making progress. If I net lose each month, I'll buy myself something small. The thing with this is that you need to reward yourself without food and you have to do it often enough to not get frustrated.

For me, I started at 245, at 220 i'm getting a full spa day with a facial and massage, at 200 im going skydiving, at 180 i have not figured out yet, and at my goal weight of 160 i want to go on a beach vacation. Some of my smaller rewards include getting a new kitchen gadget (I love cooking) or buying new jewelry or makeup. I'm also signing up for a 5k when it gets warm again.

You could join a group, I'm in 2, lose 30lbs in 3 months and the biggest loser brides, we are sharing our weightlosses and ppl can get to know each other better. It helps to be in a group of like minded ppl with similar goals. X

I like the before pic on the refrigerator. Take a "before" snap shot of you standing in swim suit post that up on the fridge, makes you think twice about infiltrating the ice box.

I also think avoiding TV helps.. TV is nothing but sex food and violence. Keep reading articles, view fitness related videos on youtube. It's tough at first but once you start the ball rolling you can keep the momentum. I wouldn't depend on others to hold you accountable, hold yourself accountable, do it for the right reasons. You want to live better , longer, healthier right? It's a lot better than sick and bloated, I can vouch for that!

Only weigh yourself weekly and make small goals, it's good to have a long run goal, but thinking months into the future can seem overwhelming, think more short term.. like 3 lbs this week. instead of 30 lbs in 3 months.

    Carpe Diem!
