I recently ran a half marathon on 9th December, since then I have taken a break from running. I started running today but 2 miles in after running up a hill, the area between my heel and arch started to ache and then became a sharp pain that was really painful!! I couldn't run on it and walked the rest of the way. Has anyone had anything like this or know what to do about it? Help!

    Check medical websites and / or see a doctor if it's bad, but the usual treatment for injuries - "RICE" is always good first aid.
    R = rest
    I = ice
    C = compression
    E = elevation - sit with your foot up

    Good luck & hope this helps

    yikes, planters faciitis is a bugger to get rid of. I struggled with it for months. taping the arch with sports tape while running helps alot also freezing a water bottle and rolling it with your foot several times a week also helps. And no flip flops. Good luck

    I had a wicked case of PF, three years ago. I kept running on it even though I was in agony because I was signed up for my first 50K ultra marathon. I tried everything, nothing worked (it was my second bout with it). Basically you can try all of the "fixes" but about all that works is time. It can take a year or longer to get rid of it. In desperation I even went to a chiropractor that did active release on it and paid $60 a crack. That didn't even help. Good luck!!
