Hello! I'm Jessica and...

I'm a food-aholoic. When I was in college I gained a bunch of weight... then I lost it afterward... then a few years ago (2008) the hammer fell on my life and a bunch of crappy things all happened at the same time so I got really depressed and gained all of the weight back and then some. I lost like 50lbs in 2011 but then gained it all back last year again. I'm pretty tired of this cycle and am determined to learn other ways to deal with my issues besides eating. I could use all of the friends/help/support there is.

Feel free to add me as a friend!

Welcome Jessica! You definitely came to the right place if you are ready to be accountable for what you eat. Remember that diet alone will not give you the results you want. You really need to find time to add exercise into your daily routine. I have a 9 yr old and a 7 month old so trust me, I know how hard that can be. They say the worst time to exercise is before bed but that's pretty much my only window of opportunity! So, I figure, its better to exercise before bed than not at all, right?!

I'm on the Atkins diet. I've done it in the past with great success (after my 1st child) and now I'm at it again to lose this baby fat. Maybe low-carb is the answer for you? My biggest "like" of the atkins diet is that I'm NEVER hungry! Let me know if you decide to give it a try and I can send you the link to an amazing website with hundreds of low carb recipes!

    Good luck!

Thanks Everyone! I am using this website because it links to my FitBit. I used the FitBit in 2011 when I lost the 50lbs and it helped A LOT so here I am again. I love that this site syncs my food back to FitBit and FitBit syncs my exercise over here. I think between those two things I should be able to have a pretty good overall idea of my food and activity level. The last piece of the puzzle for me will be having people to help keep me motivated. I decided not to tell family and friends (except my boyfriend) this time around because I am tired of making promises and then not keeping them. My whole family lives in NY and I only see them about twice a year, so I am hoping to go back this summer a new and skinnier me to show them that I really can do this.
