Training for 5k - skipping gym today ok??

So, I'm training for my first 5k in February. I ran on Friday and Sunday, both days did 3 miles. I was hoping to go to the gym today during lunch, but super tired b/c for whatever crazy reason, I couldn't sleep after 3 am and up for the day at 5:15 am. I'm really feeling sluggish now at work. I was thinking of taking a walk outside instead for 45 minutes and will hit the gym tomorrow after hopefully a good nights sleep. Or should I go to the gym and do 45 minutes on the elliptical?

Cross train on the elliptical0

If your body is telling you that it's tired...listen to it. You are already running 3 miles, so taking one day off isn't going to derail your training.0

Thanks. I don't plan on just sitting during my lunch hour and eating. I will be active whether it be outside for a long walk or at the gym. Wasn't going to run either way today. My legs are tired. I think I'll opt for the walk. It is a nice day in NYC and I could use the sunshine.0
