Broken Leg Work Out tips?

I broke my leg the first week of December and can FINALLY put some weight on it. But I'm still on crutches. Any ideas for exercise? I'm a walker/stepper who is down for the count until mid-February.

I'm in the same situation as you, so I'm curious about the responses. I broke my ankle mid-December and have 3 more weeks in a cast and on crutches. My doctor said crutches are a great workout on their own. I've been doing arm weights but don't know what else to do either. Wheelchair aerobics?0

Oh man! What a bummer.
How about leg lifts? Sit ups? Stand up & touch toes... (Or cast : )
Good for you for striving to not let this keep you from trying to exercise.

I can totally relate. I broke my leg & shattered my ankle in 2009 and it still hurts.
Upper body for sure. Keep your upper body strong.0 -
Crutches are definitely a great workout on their own! But they hurt like holy heck. I injured my knees earlier this year and boxed - even if I had to sit down and punch the air! Can be a great cardio exercise - and even better with a pair of weights (think 3-5lb because it KILLS your shoulders)0
