I have never been this disgusted with myself

I think 'disgusted' is a really harsh word, but I understand the feeling of not liking what you see in the pictures. My advice is to think of the people that you love and care about the most, and think of how you react when they do something that disappoints you. I bet you still love them and give them more chances...I think you should extend that same courtesy to yourself. HUGS!0

Everyone really is so helpful and supportive on this site. I already have depression and seeing myself in a different light made it worse rather than better. I deleted the pictures off of my phone but, I swear to keep them on my profile and computer in order to work towards my "new" body. I can't wait to compare pictures and I guess that rather than dwelling, I should think about what I have accomplished. My gorgeous daughter thinks that I am amazing no matter what, I should take a page out of her book.
I'm 19 years old, I shouldn't be this large at such a young age but, I am not going to let it go on!
Thanks so much, everyone!0 -
Don't be upset with the girl in the before pictures. She is the genius that decided you needed to change. You will thank her for motivating you every day. Please don't hate her, she's your number one fan. When you inevitably reach your goal weight, you will show your new picture to your old picture and your new picture won't be upset, she'll be proud, and so will your before picture.
And that's ignoring the whole 'just had a baby' thing. You just created life, for christ's sake.
Could not have said it better.0 -
Firstly huge congrats on the birth of your baby. A true blessing. Secondly please dont be so hard on yourself. You just did an amazing thing. Beauty comes from the inside not the outside. You have just been through the first part of an amazing journey, now it continues as your little one grows. Your partner loves you for who you are on the inside. Yes i have been there, i have two grown up children and i never got rid of my baby belly but that was my own fault, i didnt try, i had no motivation. Now i do. I have great support on here. Please feel free to add me if you like. We can do this together. Your not alone.0

Hi two weeks after a baby a thin body wouldnt have pulled back into shaep! It is a long time since I had my babies.
A good exercise is to lie on back knees bent feet on floor slightly apart. With your hand support the sides of your stomach
pushing to the middle then curl torso up gently and down. This helps centre of abdominal muscles to mend after being stretched
apart in pregnancy . Do a few at a time during the day!0 -
You're 18 years old, full of life and energy. With a little commitment on your part and maybe a swift kick in the pants from your MFP friends form time to time, you got this. Now, enough posting for the day, you got work to do.0
-
well not sure this will cheer you up but here goes, try taking your before pictures now and then in 6 months from now having to retake them again because you never got off the start line!
yup.. see... it could so be worse lol
do not let this happen to you... (been there , done that).0 -
Congrats on your new baby!! And yes!! you most def can get to your wanted size!! So many, many success stories on this website and YOU! will be one too.....heck you are already a success....all you are doing now is enhancing
THIS
We're all in the same boat.
Just set your goals for slow, steady and lasting results. Follow the MFP recommendations, and be dedicated to yourself and these goals. You can do it!
Constancy here is the diet and exercise you do after you get tired of doing the diet and exercise you already did.
Perseverance brings victory....ALL IS POSSIBLE :flowerforyou:0 -
i felt the same way but am glad i took them. once you get farther into your journey you be able to look back and compare0

I just took my before pictures last night and boy did I cry when I saw them. I see something completely different when I look in the mirror. I was horrified. My friend said a wonderful thing to me, though, she said "Part of this process is learning to love yourself". It's so true. We can look at ourselves and be disgusted or we can change the way we look at ourselves and think "This is a beautiful work in progress". Or something positive like that.0
-
I feel exactly the same, but you have already done something about it by being on MFP! I haven't dared take the before pics yet!!
I often think my husband cannot fancy me now as when I met him I was a very toned svelte size 10 and now I am an 18!
You can do it!! xx0 -
Delete those pictures immediately!
Please don't delete them! Store them. Save them. Send them to a friend and delete them from your computer if you must, but don't rid yourself of them entirely. This is still a part of your life, no matter how ashamed or 'disgusted' you might feel. And when you continue losing weight, you'll wish you had them for comparison. I'm kicking myself for not taking before pictures!0 -
Do not give up! You're a beautiful mommy and you and your fiance are adorable. I know the task may look daunting at first but when you start making progress you'll be so glad that you started.0
-
You can do this!
I have by before pictures on my computer, I forgot that my screen saver cycels through my photos and that one poped up when company was over. No one said anything and I don't know if anyone was actually paying attention to the computer screen but I was horrified.0 -
Dont get down on yourself! You got this!0
-
You can do it! Don't give up! Look at your ticker...You WILL reach your goal weight! Just remember...you didn't put the weight on overnight...and it's not going to come off overnight. I've got quite a ways to go myself...I'm about 180 away from my goal weight. So don't get too frustrated, it'll happen. Just work hard and be smart about you decisions Feel free to add me if you like and we can support each other!0
-
Dont be so hard on yourself.. We support you and want you to love yourself in spite of your oward views of yourself.. Yes you wanna loose weight.. and you will!!..maybe re-evaluate what your eating and be true to yourself when evaluating..maybe thats where the concern is.. But I totally understand..and I have been there0

Buttercup you're 19, just think, by the time you're in your mid 20's it might seem like it never even happened, and you'll only have those pictures as a memory. You'll be fine0 -
Please keep your chin up. My goodness you gave birth two weeks ago and your body needs some time to adjust to the changes of not having to nurture that little one inside you anymore. As far as the before/after pics I wish I had taken a before but in all honesty i DIDN'T want to see what I had become!! At this past thanksgiving family dinner my sister in law showed me a pic she had taken at our 2011 thanksgiving dinner........man was I amazed at the weight loss I had accomplished in one years time!!! Everyone would say how great I looked but all I saw was the FAT girl in the mirror. I still have alot of weight to go and I haven't been very good about posting on here like when I first started, but I decided not to do a new years resolution and just keep my goal of moving forward and losing the weight for ME....not my husband, kids or family, but for MY health, well being and confidence. I am back now and more determined than ever. If you need more support or just someone to chat with please feel free to add me as a friend. Good luck to you!!!0

In addition to agreeing with all the people saying you should be kind to your new-momma body and self, I want to tell you that I not only haven't taken before pictures of myself, but still haven't taken any and I'm one pound from my first goal. I'm a chicken. You're a tiger.
And don't let the temporary visual shake-up prevent you from seeing what is beautiful about you Right Now.0 -
Two weeks after you gave birth is a terrible time to evaluate your stomach. Seriously, it takes awhile for your uterus to shrink, excess fluid to be flushed away, stretched out muscles to recover, etc. Your fiance is not disgusted with you; he thinks you're beautiful and wonderful, and an amazing woman and mommy.
Slow and steady wins the race. Take one day at a time, and don't take a "before" picture until at least six weeks after birth, okay?0 -
Right on!!!!0
-
Remember this feeling because once the weight starts coming off, you'll never want to come back here. It will keep you motivated until you reach your goal weight. Good luck, you can do this! :flowerforyou:0

You are only 19 and have your whole life ahead of you. Even if it takes you 2 years to lose the weight, you'll only be 21!!!! Don't be so hard on yourself.
I don't take pictures. I just do measurements. There is no sense in beating myself up or feeling bad! I have enough pics lying around I don't like...no need to take more.
Try feeling good about what you are doing instead of what the scale says. It takes so long to lose all the weight, so I try to feel proud that i am eating healthier, working out, etc.!0 -
I agree with everyone else! Don't be so hard on yourself, especially after just having a baby!
I'm 26 with two boys and I'm not happy with my body but I have the tools and support system to finally lose the weight!0 -
First off, you need to hear this, GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK.
Momma, you gave birth two weeks ago? You're going to need a couple more weeks for those hormones to regulate. You need a couple more weeks to snuggle that little one. A couple more weeks to breathe and access your goals.
Yes, it's totally possible. And yes, if you stick at it and work hard for it, you CAN and WILL get down to your wanted size. But step away from the mirror, step away from the scale and give yourself a pat on the back for what you have already achieved with your life.0 -
I just saw your pics. You can lose that weight. And whenever I feel depressed I just go through the success stories. See their pics. If they can do it, so can we. Plus what emanyalpsid said. All the best and congratulations.0
-
I know how you feel but don't let it get you down. As the rest have said, enjoy your new little one and soon you will get to a healthier you. It takes time but each day gets you closer to your goals if you stick to it.0
