Incorrect foods in the database with confirmations?

Has anybody else noticed recently that many enteries have incorrect serving size or calorie counts?
I have also noticed many of these have been confirmed by others. Just wondering if it is just me or if anybody has any theories.
Usually the calories are off by 10-30.

I think it's very much due to the person who enters it in the first place. Sometimes they don't seek out the correct nutritional values when entering a product. I find that it is better to enter it again myself with new letter headings so I know which one is mine or click on the "not to be shared" icon.0

I have noticed this myself. Fiber One cereal is one. If you read the box it states 1/2 c. is a serving but there are several entries that show 1 cup is a serving with the same calories. I have changed some of the entries.0

Sometimes it's that the information changes over times both for pre-packaged foods and for restaurant analyses when they change recipes or ingredients.
And sometimes people are smoking something other than sausage ; )0 -
Sometimes people add calories from fat into total calories and use that number for total calories, which shows a lack of understanding of the labeling system.0

There are people here from different countries. The products are different in the US, UK and Canada for instance.0

Yes I have noticed too, i always double check from my product information. Something else that really bugs me are all the homemade recipes. Why are they on there? It just clutters the data base & then it takes longer to find what you are looking for. They are all different, If there was a recipe with it maybe, There needs to be a separate place for them. A cookbook link maybe?0

^This. It really annoys me when they change their recipe so the old information is incorrect. "Wolfe made it better" my ***! They added more grease and carbs to it, thank you very much!0 -

I have been on this site for more than 2 years and I thought they were going to put a way to share recipes but to my knowledge it has never happened. However, I often use the "homemade" one instead of a restaurant one if I eat at someone's house because I am guessing it will be closer to accurate.
And yep- manufacturers change labels with location and with time- so we all have to check.0 -
I agree with saying foods from other countries are different in calories for even the same brands, I for one I am from Canada and the same product in Canada has more calories than the product in the US...why I really don't know but like someone else said check Internet or label of the product. Whenever I enter stuff now I make sure to indicate CDN for Canadian or I write my name...be vigilant: :drinker:0
