Bokwa Classes

I've just had a leaflet put through my door advertising Bokwa classes in my town.
I've never heard of this before and was wondering if any of you guys had tried it at all, what does it involve and what your opinions are?
The leaflet states that you can burn 1000 calories a session, do you think this is correct?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. :)

Sounds like the Amway of fitness.

I Googled it and the the first thing that pops up is "Become a Bokwa Instructor"
Looks like another incarnation of all the other group/dance/fitness programs and it would appear their business model is designed to recruit more instructors who will get paid to recruit more instructors.

Its probably just a good as workout as the rest, and your level of success will depend on how much effort you put into it, I just don't see it as being different. Although, their website says its different and of course if its on the Interwebs it must be true. That, plus the best way to find really good companies is via fliers you find at your doorstep.

Well, from that video it sounds good (if you like that kind of thing</old git>). Quite a clever concept with the alphabet. And basic dancing to "the latest hits" so nothing too difficult. I suppose if your fitness levels aren't great, you just shuffle about to the music and wave your hands monkey-see-monkey-do fashion, no worries about form, and will still enjoy yourself. I can understand why it's so popular (although Id never heard of it until now).

Shame I can't stand "the latest hits". Or dancing.

I think that's the point. You know the alphabet? You can walk? You like "hit music"? Then it's something you should try!

Edit: Just to make it clear, I think it sounds great but it's definitely not something anyone could ever tempt me to do even if there are hot chicks dancing around in tight clothing.

Agreed. If you have the motivation.

I do Bokwa and certainly couldn't do it at home. It's an hour long, non stop, very high energy, has a high calorie burn, the steps are easy to learn as you always go back to one set of steps. I love it
