Hi, Am desperate to lose weight and am stuck in a rut, I weighed myself today and weigh 13 stone 10lbs
I been going to the gym for a year, however over the last 4 months I moved and over christmas didn't go. Going to start back tomorrow. My problem is I am not confident in what I am doing and need help/advice.
I go to the gym and don't know how to warm up properly! What do I need to do?! I did have a PT but everytime I try to ask for help he is 'too busy' and I don't want to cause a scene or a fuss
I do 30 mins on cross trainer, then leg work on resistance machines, (I used to do circuits but again don't know what I am doing and don't keep them up as lose interest) Then I do 30 mins on crossramp, then 10/20 mins on treadmill and 5/10 mins on bike so I do a lot of cardio.. am I supposed to do 'warm downs' whatever its called too? .. I am thinking of joining the classes at the gym but am worried and feel insecure that I am the fattest there and everyone would look at my big red face trying to keep up ~ I am not over reacting.. they are all stick thin
anyway.. my food.. I am vege and don't have a great balance, I don't like a lot of vege food, gah.. just give up now!! Lol
Sorry for the poor introduction thread. Just don't know what to do, where to turn

Don't be insecure. Be confident with yourself. You gotta start somewhere first so just be confident. I guess you pushed yourself too hard if you hurt your knee in the process. Pushing hard means to go beyond what you could have done usually but still maintain proper form which will keep you from getting injured. Its not also about having 100% attendance in the gym as your diet (what you eat) plays a big role in losing weight. I can't really be much of help with the diet since I'm not a vegan myself but I'm sure there are a lot of others like you here in MFP.
Add me if you like.0 -
I cant seem to make time for the gym but have found some work outs on You tube. On day 9 of 30 day shred, not sure if working but 20 mins of intense excercise has to be better than my usual none. Have sent you a friend request.0

Hey. It looks like your having a rough time. To be expected. However on the note of your professional trainer. If you are paying for a service and not receiving it, it is your RIGHT to demand it. You don't have to be rude or mean but if this person says they are too busy, then go to their boss. If you still don't get satisfactory service, stop paying and go somewhere else. It's your money and I bet there are another 20 trainers nearby that would be glad to have you as a client.
For your meal plan. I'm not a vegetarian by any standard but I do like many meatless meals. Is there any paticular meal types you don't enjoy?
Feel free to add me as a friend!0
