Ok.. i have only lost two pounds..this my first week of really using mfp according to directions. I just want post here to let other newbies know that by just following the bouncing ball on mfp..you will lose as it predicts.

I can't believe i'm eating more than 1600 calories a day and losing. I have always starved myself or done some crazy fad diet. I have 38 more pounds to go..but it is great to know that this plan works. I don't mind losing slow and steady as long as i don't have to deprive myself of any one food group. I'm so done with that.

What i'm doing is following the suggested plan and not adjusting the numbers because i want to lose faster. ...since i have 30 to 40 pounds to lose.. i set my loss at the recommended one pound a week. And by gosh it is working. no more 1200 calorie starving..

Now i can't wait to incorporate my exercise.

Yes! I so feel you!! :D Haha.. I am newbie too.... and praying this works for the both of us! :) God bless!
  • I'm a newbie too hoping to go from 270 lbs. to 150! I never realized how much I could enjoy exercise and eating right! I have more energy and so much more will power than I thought, suddenly the junk food I'm constantly tempted with just isn't worth it!

Thanks all for your kind and encouraging words. they matter. I'm sure many of you relate..that you start really thinking you have to starve or work out like a nut to ever be your normal size again. I can't wait to show myself that there is the logical way to conquer this that is really much easier.

I know exactly what you mean! This is the first time in my 42 years of life that I have actually ENJOYED eating responsibly. I have been logging for 6 weeks and have lost 5 pounds. Slow, but steady. It is finally "clicking" with me that I have to be responsible for what I put in my mouth. No more mindless eating! Keep working hard and we shall succeed together!
