I AM doing it. I'm halfway to my goal. So, don't think about it, just do it. The only thing stopping you is your brain being silly :) So make your body do it and your brain will have to deal with it.

I try to remember this when I am on my weight loss kick...
    WEIGHT LOSS IS LIKE DRIVING:
IF YOU VEER OFF THE ROAD JUST MAKE A U-TURN AND HEAD BACK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

usually when you veer off the road, you dont have to turn around completely :drinker:

    Honestly? No. I don't.

I do, however, believe I can do it for a day. So that's all that I try to deal with at a time.
  • Just take it a day at a time. Follow the plan and get in some basic workouts. Before you know it, it will be done. =)

One day at a time-that's how everyone begins. You will stumble, you will fall off the wagon, and then you'll just pick yourself back up because what is the alternative? You can either keep trying or give up. One setback doesn't mean you're giving up on your health and well being. I love the quote-"Being fat is hard and being fit is hard. Pick your hard." Good luck!

Yes, I can! I can do this one day and one meal at a time.

I was referring to those people on page one of OP thread young lady.

However, I am sorry; it appears that you've missed "being an authority" by just ONE pound! Tell you what, go get you a pixie cut, a mani/pedi, a brazilian, and then come back for the weigh in. :flowerforyou:

I'm beginning to think that the biggest thing holding me back is the fact that I don't really believe I can do it. I've tried soooooo many times before and failed that I'm afraid to believe that this time it will work.

I've also tried (and failed) to lose weight several times. There is definately some doubt in my mind, but I won't give up so easily this time. Especially since I have so many people here to motivate me. Wish I had found this site earlier!

There is one major change I am making with this attempt: Taking it one week at a time. Last week I bought a weekly planner and wrote my weight goal for each week. A guideline to keep me on track this year. At 5 pounds per week, I will be down to 180 by December 1st. Of course I want to lose weight as fast as possible, but as long as I meet my weekly goal, I won't starve myself. Slow and Steady wins the race :)

When I started I didn't think I could do it. I thought I'd never weigh less than 200 pounds and I'd never be a single digit size. And now I've accomplished both. In the beginning, it helps to have a lot of short term goals. I first aimed to lose 20 pounds. Then to reach 200 pounds. Then to reach 190 which was the lowest weight I'd ever attained when trying to get fit. And gradually as I lost more and more weight, then I began to believe that I'd make it to my goal weight.
