Does anyone else start to gain weight before you lose weight? I have been working my butt off trying to lose the weight and I was at first, but now I seem to have gained a little back. Haven't changed my eating habits and I am staying under my goals for the day.

What does your routine look like.
  • Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. If you are weight training, then you can expect to gain some weight, or stay the same for a while.

This is what I was going to get at. If you're lifting weights in your routine as a beginner, you will gain a little bit of muscle even if you're on a caloric deficit. People call this "noob gains". It only happens for the first couple months of lifting, and it's a good thing.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat that is a ridiculous statement - Muscle is heavier by volume/denser than fat

I have found than when I first start weight training I build muscle before the fat starts to drop off which is where the temporary increase on the scales come from - remember it is only temporary!
