Body Rockers: Recommended Body Rock tools??

I am planning on starting Body Rock next month (I am starting with month 1 of Insanity for a boost) and the website is extremely difficult to use... However I have a cousin that is going to show me the ropes this weekend.
My question is what tools have you used such as the sand bag, dumbbells, medicine ball, etc. ? I want to start weightlifting so I don't think the medicine ball will be the right choice, but I would like to be able to adjust the weight as I continue lifting which is possible with either the sand bag or the dumbbells. They are both a little pricey so I'd like your input! Anyone have any recommendations for what would be the more versatile and useful tool for the program?
Thank you in advance!

Isn't the website confusing? I'm so mad at the recent changes they made. It looked like it was going to be much easier, but they totally mucked it all up. I'd probably invest in a sandbag... that seems to the most used and most affordable. I don't have any of their equipment, but I'd like a sandbag and equalizer. I'm gonna try to just put some sand in a bag in a dufflebag or something. They're supposed to start a new challenge soon so I'm hoping it'll be easier to follow. I recently found fitness blender thanks to MFP and I like it SO much better... may only go back to bodyrock for one or two workouts.0

Thanks so much for the tips! This is exactly what I needed... I think I will look in to getting the sandbag before the next month so I'm ready to go! Also.... Thank you for directing me towards fitness blender... It looks like this may be WAY easier than trying to decode the body rock website. Good Luck on the challenge!0 -
Hello,
I agree.. it is very confusing. I plan to start the new 30 day challenge tomorrow, it starts tomorrow right? This is my first time doing it, any suggestions comments about it? I was thinking about getting the interval timer.. not sure yet0 -
I am starting the challenge today too. I have made diy of everything they have on the website. My husband made me equalizer bars out of pvc. I made a sandbag with a duffle bag I had and made a diy ball also. I haven't seen any workouts use it yet though. The bars have held up pretty well. I spent $60 total for everything which is cheaper than one item on the site. I also just found a timer online that I use.0

I have never done a challenge or even started Body Rock, however if you have a phone that supports apps I know there are interval timer apps that are free. My cousin, who got me into Body Rock, suggested to do a 30 day challenge to jump start the program though, which I have not decided to do/ not do since I am beginning with 30 days of Insanity first.0 -

Wow great tips! I had already convinced myself to only get one of these things since they are so expensive... I definitely can make the sandbag and pvc bars! Thank you!!0
