How do I calculate my strength training? I tried using a different app for calculating it but it was complicated and wanted my heart rate? Any simple solutions out there?

its really hard to estimate on strength training just try to estimate it by the effort you put in. this site pretty accurate for medium effort0

I just use my HRM........0

I just use whatever the site estimates for me as far as strength training calories go.0

exercise > CARDIO > add exercise > search "strength training" - enter the minutes of actual activity and get a calorie burn estimate.
use
exercise > STRENGTH > add exercise > weight/sets reps to track progress over time with your gains0 -
I came across this awesome website that calculates how many calories you wanna burn doing what you want to do at they gym:)

I actually track my heart rate during it, but I am doing P90X. I log it every water break and then at the end calculate the average and do it that way.0

I dont add my strengh training - i know it tells me to but i don't
I hardly ever eat any exercise cals back unless i was burning like 800-1000 cals
I donlt even logg most of my exercise on here lol0 -
If you have a smart phone there are apps for measuring your heart rate. You put your thumb over the camera flash and it takes your pulse from it. Prob not the most accurate but will help you get the idea if your heart rate is increasing during weight training.0

At this point I am beyond frustrated with this app. I have been unable to calculate ANY of my workouts properly as it doesn't account for strength training or have Bikrams (Hot Yoga) on the list. All the links ppl have suggested expect me to calculate my BMI, MET and know algebra. Also, how am I supposed to stop in the middle of my 90 min. hot yoga class to stand there for 1 min and check my heart rate? and "hot yoga" is not even on the list. Soooo effin frustrated.0

it WILL calculate calorie for strength training if you go
exercise > CARDIO > add exercise > search "strength training"
or if that's part of a workout involving cardio AND strength you could log circuit training which is available in the database.
You could use one of the existing 2 yoga exercises or if you can find a way to get the calorie burn estimate you can enter your own exercise for the hot yoga, If you feel they don't give you "enough" calories you could enter additional time or bump the calorie burn up.0 -
Thanks for your helpful tips. I did find a website that calculates approx calorie burn for 90 min of hot yoga (see below if you're interested). I will see if I can figure out the strength training thing but I won't be doing algebra or stopping to take my heart rate haha!
Calories Burned in Hot Yoga
Bikram yoga is a fast-moving aerobic exercise, so it does raise your heart rate to a fat-burning level. While you won't burn thousands of calories, you may burn up to 800 or 900, depending on your current weight. A 150-pound woman will burn about 700 calories performing hot yoga for 90 minutes, according to the calorie counter from Health Status, and a 130-pound woman will burn about 620 calories. You would need to weigh over 200 pounds to burn 1,000 calories in hot yoga. In addition, you would burn more than 100 additional calories jogging at only 5 miles per hour, contrary to claims that hot yoga burns just as many calories as running.

This is an excellent website for automated calorie calculation - and no algebra!!! haha thank you!0

Well that's great.. if it's aerobics there are 5 selections from the cardio results.
There's nothing requiring Heart rate, BMI or MET or needing algebra to get a calorie burn estimate for strength training if you go
exercise > CARDIO > add exercise > search "strength training" as in it's a CARDIO exercise you're adding, if it asks you to enter the minutes you were strength training then you're in the right spot it will estimate a calorie burn based on your weight.
If when you get to strength training you're asked for weight / sets / reps go back to exercise > CARDIO > search strength training
not exercise > strength > add exercise0 -
This is an excellent website for automatd calorie calculation - and no algebra!!!
