Sugar Intake

I have a question about sugar....

I never realized how much sugar I "normally" took in per day. Now that I have started watching what I eat and reading all kind of blogs and websites I am just wanting to clarify about sugar.

Basically it says I should be eating 24g of sugar per day. I find that really hard to keep if I eat fruit or have milk. I am not talking about "sugar" as in processed or junk foods. I am talking sugar from actual, natural foods.

So...

How do you guys manage this? Do you typically go over?

Thanks,

I am having the same problem! It's really hard and I am not eating anything processed either. I'd love to hear other inputs.

I have the same issue. I'm always over 10 to 20 grams. I think it was the live strong website that I read today that natural sugars don't count, only added sugars like in a cola or snack. I've only been at this for just under 2 months so I am still learning but thought I'd add my 2 cents. Actually I just looked it up in my history and here's the link:

  • Unless you're diabetic, don't worry about it. Just stay under your carb and calorie goal. Fruit rocks and so does milk! Enjoy them.

I'm struggling with this too, nd found myself checking my sugar totals before my calories today. Think I'm going to get to hung up on it, I don't drink fizzy drinks, no sugar in tea, at the most 1/2 tsp on cereal!
Reading everyone else's posts seems like a popular thing to struggle with, I'm probably just as pleased as you to know its not just me that does!!
